Responsibilities
• Test mechanical products and equipment after repair• Repair and replace damaged or worn parts• Inspect machines or heavy equipment to diagnose defects• Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment• Perform routine maintenance work on equipment and vehicles• Examine parts for damage or excessive wear• Read and interpret manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings• Overhaul and test machines or equipment• Inspect and diagnose malfunctions in defective equipment• Inspect important parts for proper operating condition• Adjust brakes, align wheels, and reassemble equipment• Specialize in repairing and maintaining engine parts• Weld metal parts and repair broken or cracked parts• Review layouts, blueprints, diagrams, or work orders• Follow established safety procedures• Handle and dispose of hazardous wastes• Train others in the job responsibilities
Requirements
• High school diploma, technical school, or apprenticeship• Experience using diagnostic software for troubleshooting• Experience using Microsoft Windows and Office• Strong verbal and written communication skills• Mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic maintenance skills• Ability to read blueprints and schematics• Ability to work on a variety of equipment at various locations• Ability to work overtime as needed• Ability to read various measuring tools• Ability to travel domestically up to 5% of the time• Valid driver's license• Own hand tools
