Job Summary Join our Program Management Team as a Ship Superintendent. This role involves overseeing ship repair maintenance projects, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently within budget and timelines. Collaborate closely with project managers, crafts, and subcontractors to deliver high-quality results. Manage a portion of ship repair maintenance packages that may include installation, modification, and repair of complex equipment and systems. Functionally reports to the Project Manager and ensures that assigned work is completed on time and within an established budget. Often works with the various crafts (blast/paint, mechanical, etc.) to discuss and coordinate production work.  Must also have a through understanding of shipboard systems and excellent communication skills to coordinate and work with Subcontractors. Skills Required A minimum 7+ years of experience is common for this career superintendent position. A SS-III will be highly knowledgeable aboard a ship and very comfortable interfacing with production trades, customers, and the government. Experience in trades is beneficial. Understanding of complex work specifications is required. Experience and capability of assisting with contract negotiations is highly desirable. Experience with scheduling is also highly desirable Must have the ability to assess production progress and discuss production challenges with the Project Management Team and Production teams. Interacting with other shipyard departments including the customer (Government) is a common. Must have the ability to plan and coordinate work to deconflict and develop efficient workflows aboard ships during a repair availability. Education/Training/Certifications A bachelor's degree is highly desired or equivalent shipyard experience.
