(230008ED) Job Duties MISSION STATEMENT : At the Ohio Office of Budget and Management, it is our mission to provide policy analysis, fiscal research and financial management services to the Governor and agencies of state government, helping to ensure the proper and responsible use of state resources.
As a cabinet-level agency within the executive branch of state government, OBM develops, coordinates and monitors the individual budgets of state agencies and reviews all financial transactions made with public funds

OBM is seeking an entry level Shared Services Associate who will assist our OBM Shared Services (OSS) division. OSS is a business processing center that processes common administrative transactions for state agencies and business suppliers, with an emphasis on efficiency and customer service.
What You'll Do: Work with a self-directed work team to establish and update state suppliers. Process vouchers, reimbursements, and grants Validate information for accuracy & completeness within established State of Ohio and OSS guidelines and timelines. Works with OSS leadership to identify continuous improvement opportunities. Contributing to the development & achievement of short & long-term department objectives and goals. Provide magical customer service to our internal and external customers May be assigned to work in any of the Shared Services areas: Supplier Operations, Accounts Payable, Travel and Expense or Contact Center A Successful Candidate Will: Meet or surpass the production and quality goals Work well independently and as part of a team Have strong communication skills Be flexible Have strong attention to details What's in it for you: The State of Ohio takes care of the team that cares for Ohioans!

Teleworking: Subject to OBM's teleworking policy and an approved teleworking agreement, this position is eligible to work from a remote location on a hybrid basis. The selected applicant may be required to complete initial trainings prior to being eligible to telework. All requests to telework are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and must be approved by OBM's Director of Human Resources and management, subject to the conditions outlined in the agency policy and teleworking agreement.
Qualifications
Completion of associate core coursework in accounting, auditing, finance, business administration or related field;


-Or 18 mos. exp. in accounting, auditing, finance, business administration, or related field, or financial call center work in private sector or other governmental sector;


-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.

Knowledge of state accounting practices*; generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP); agencies' financial policies, procedures & controls*; general office practices & procedures; workflow analysis & financial concepts. Skill in computer use including completion of financial transactions; management of customer inquiries; report preparation using word processing, spreadsheet & other business software. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, & divide fractions, percentages & decimals; understand state accounting procedures; maintain accurate records; gather, collate & classify data & information; assemble data into reports; research questions about financial transactions & answer complex telephone inquiries; participate actively in &/or lead self-directed work teams with minimal supervision; maintain composure under pressure while meeting multiple deadlines in an environment with intense & public focus on high performance & individual & team measurement; take initiative, provide suggestions, feedback & coaching to co-workers for improvement while maintaining productive working relationship with co-workers, other state employees & customers of Ohio Shared Services center; participate in multi-discipline &/or cross-functional special project teams; effectively communicate orally & in writing; identify areas of improvement &/or solutions to system processes; have excellent self-management, including ability to self-critique, gather critiques of others & incorporate feedback for improved performance.
