Service Technician

National Star Services is a 26-year-old facility management company providing different services all nationwide and we are now in search of  a Service Technician for our location in  Romeoville, IL 60446 The general Maintenance / Systems Technician position is responsible for performing a variety of maintenance duties including building maintenance, inspections, PM's on facilities and grounds, general cleanup, and running errands. 
*Temp-to-hire* Shift available: Monday to Friday 11:00 pm – 7:00 am & Flexibility to work weekends. Starting Pay rate: $25.00 / hour bi-weekly pay.


Essential Functions: 
-Resolve issues as quickly and practically as possible. 
-Troubleshoot and maintain the automated crane and conveyor systems 
-Perform scheduled PM's on the crane and conveyors.
-Inspect and maintain fire extinguishers as well as general and emergency lighting. 
-Maintain general plumbing. 
-Maintain interior and exterior aesthetics of the building and make recommendations for improvements. 
-Inspect the emergency generator weekly and inform the Distribution Manager of any safety concerns.
-Maintain planned maintenance inspection reports and lift truck operations shift inspection reports. 
-Deliver and pick up parts and maintenance supplies as instructed. 
-Maintain and inspect safety kits and inventory ensuring proper documentation on the appropriate forms. 
-Escalate through the company chain of command any issues that are restricting your ability to maximize our equipment uptime. 
-Manage spare parts inventory. 
-Other duties as assigned. 




Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required 
- Technical degree in Controls Engineering, Automation or equivalent experience preferred. 
- 5 years of building maintenance required. 
- 3 years of electro-mechanical troubleshooting and repair experience with material handling conveyor.

- Two Valid forms of Identification.
