Service Porter

The Automotive Service Porter at Volkswagen in Akron, Ohio will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and assisting with the smooth operation of the dealership's service department. This is a full-time, hourly position in the auto industry and will report to the service manager. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the automotive industry, a strong work ethic, and excellent communication skills.Compensation & Benefits:This is an hourly position with a competitive compensation package of $14 to $17 per hour, paid weekly. In addition, the selected candidate will be eligible for healthcare benefits, paid time off, and other company perks.Responsibilities:Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.Park and retrieve customer vehicles from the service lot.Ensure the service lot is organized and clean.Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks such as filling up gas, checking tire pressure, and changing wiper blades.Transport customers to and from the dealership when necessary.Assist with maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the service department.Run errands for the service department as needed.Follow all safety protocols and company policies.Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent.Prior customer service experience preferred.Basic automotive knowledge and understanding of vehicle maintenance.Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills.Ability to remain calm and handle difficult situations with professionalism.A valid driver's license and clean driving record.Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends.Volkswagen of Akron is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment based on race, color, religion, national origin, age, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or veteran status.
