Zoox is seeking a highly skilled and experienced software developer to join our team. The Core Sensors team is a specialized group responsible for developing the drivers for the lidar, radar, and camera sensors on the vehicle. This suite of sensors serves as the input to the perception and planning stack and is fundamental to the autonomous driving capabilities of our robot platform.Responsibilities You will have a strong background in software development and be able to design, implement, and maintain high-quality, robust code that meets the vehicle's specific use/safety case.You will develop and maintain driver software for lidar, radar, and camera sensorsYou will work closely with the perception, planning, and advanced hardware teams to ensure the drivers meet the required specificationsYou will develop and maintain highly performant, robust, safety-critical codeYou will collaborate with other teams to ensure the sensor software integrates seamlessly with the autonomous driving stack and offline tool pipelinesRequired QualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related fieldStrong proficiency in C++ programming languageMinimum of 5 years of experience in software developmentExperience with developing drivers for lidar, radar, or camera sensorsExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detailAbility to work in a collaborative team environmentPreferred QualificationsExperience with Linux networking and debugging network-related issuesExperience with real-time, low-latency, safety-critical systemsInterest in exploring and developing new sensor modalitiesCompensationThere are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary range for this position is $164,000 to $265,000. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance.
