Based out of our U.S. test center in Albuquerque, New Mexico; however, this is a purely telecommuting / work-from-home position, whereby the employee may reside anywhere within the United States.
What you'll do: Support real-world testing of TORC's automated vehicles and provide feedback to the development team; Execute test plans to uncover the limitations of TORC's systems, collecting relevant data in order to drive improvements; Understand test gaps and deploy supplementary instrumentation and infrastructure that is required to capture data as defined by the test plans; Perform analysis of test data, generating reports to communicate performance issues and capability improvements over time; Maintain a verification and validation report showing current performance of the vehicle level system against system requirements; Work closely with mechanical, electrical, hardware, and software component teams in order to generate quantifiable performance metrics and implement vehicle level tests for individual system components; Provide regular reports to software component and system design teams, consolidating test event results and generating detailed defect reports with supporting logs; Document best practices and provide training to test engineers.
What you'll need to succeed: Master's degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field and 24 months of relevant experience in job offered or other closely related technical position. Alternatively, we will accept a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field and 60 months of relevant experience in job offered or other closely related technical position.Required experience must include experience with the following: Testing automotive systems including mechanical, electrical, hardware, and software components; Performing system level testing, validation, and verification; Driving technology development and improvements by designing test plans with actionable outputs; Performing sensor testing and calibrations; Working with system requirements; Writing test plans, test cases, and test procedures; Performing on-road testing; Performing test data analysis; Troubleshooting systems level faults, root cause analysis, or fault tree analysis of complex systems; and Using test failure or defect management tools.Requires domestic travel up to 25% of the time.Perks of Being a Full-time Torc'r Torc cares about our team members and we strive to provide benefits and resources to support their health, work/life balance, and future.
