JOB DESCRIPTION
The Domestic Tax Senior will report to the Domestic Tax Manager in NOV's Corporate Tax Department. This person will be expected to perform the following duties and responsibilities:
Prepare proforma Form 1120, 4562, 4797, and all other applicable domestic tax forms. This includes the calculation of M-adjustments, reconciliation of tax basis and reviewing calculations prepared by domestic tax staff.
Prepare/review corporate state income tax returns for multiple states.
Assist in the preparation of NOV's quarterly tax provision in accordance with US GAAP. This includes the preparation/review of NOV's tax basis balance sheet.
Assist with tax forecasts for various purposes, including cash tax management, income tax expense projections and valuation allowance evaluation.
Review financial statement information for the quarterly tax provision, forecast various M-adjustments and track deferred tax and tax payable accounts.
Prepare/review responses to Information Document Requests (IDRs) issued by the IRS exam team for tax years under audit, if applicable.
Assist with projects related to restructuring and acquisition implementation, including review and filing of Forms SS-4, Forms 8832, Forms 8023, Forms 8883, Forms 8594, FIRPTA filings, and other miscellaneous filings.
Assist in supervision of domestic tax staff and third-party service provider loan staff, if applicable.
Perform federal and state income tax research to develop in-depth knowledge of tax laws and regulations.
Work with entire tax team to continuously improve and streamline tax processes.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Certified Public Accountant (CPA Preferred)
3-5 years work experience in Corporate Tax; Public accounting experience preferred
Bachelor's degree with emphasis in Accounting; Advanced degree in Accounting, Taxation, or Law preferred
Knowledge of CorpTax tax compliance software preferred
