Lead the planning, development, and implementation of systems engineering practices and processes to improve project outcomes. Develop comprehensive requirements and design documents that serve as the foundation for project success. Engage in software development with a focus on Python, contributing to both core application development and automated testing. Utilize the Software Engineering Institute's CMMI model to enhance software development practices and outcomes. Manage project documentation and progress using Microsoft Office and Project to ensure accurate tracking and reporting. Construct Work Breakdown Structures, project schedules, and estimates to effectively manage and align project resources and timelines. Conduct detailed requirements definition, analysis, traceability, verification, and validation to ensure alignment with client needs and system specifications. Implement robust configuration and risk management processes to identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies. 15 years of relevant experience in systems engineering, demonstrating a deep understanding of technical and managerial aspects of major projects. At least five (5) years of systems engineering experience in three or more of the following areas: Work Breakdown Structures, project scheduling and estimation, requirements management, configuration management, and risk management. Proven capability in software development and familiarity with various software development lifecycle models. Strong proficiency in Python and automated testing methodologies. Experience with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and the SEI CMMI model. Additional Requirements:
This position may require the individual to work non-standard hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Participation in critical mission operations may be required, which includes being on-call and available via pager.
