Senior Stream Design Engineer/ Project Manager , you'll work with a multidisciplinary team to design and deliver fish passage and stream restoration projects.
We are currently seeking to add a

Senior Stream Design Engineer/ Project Manager

to our Water Resource team. The typical salary range for this position is

$117,000 to $154,000

and is commensurate with experience relative to this position. This is a full-time with benefits position.
What you'll be doing:
Serve as a project engineer and project manager for projects within the Water Resources group.
Monitor scope, schedule, and budget as a project manager or task lead. Allocate and direct staff resources to meet project objectives.
Execute and lead the development of technical reports and plan sets.
Produce design calculations and clearly document design decisions in technical reports.
Conduct site visits, evaluate stream conditions, document conditions, and collect field data.
Coordinate and collaborate with other disciplines to develop optimal solutions, both internally and externally.
Use 2-dimensional hydraulic models to simulate the hydraulics of water flow through natural rivers and channels (HEC-RAS, SRH2D).
Assess scour processes and develop mitigation strategies such as scour countermeasures considering environment and natural design.
Design stream complexity features such as engineered log jams and other Large Woody Material (LWM) features including the evaluation of stability of LWM structures.
Prepare floodplain impact assessment reports describing project effects on floodplain conveyance, mapped floodways and FEMA and local floodplain guidelines and regulations.
Who we are looking for: Required qualifications:
PE certification with a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
+/-10 years of experience in hydrology, hydraulics, fish passage, and/or stream restoration.
A self-motivated, methodical, and organized problem solver that wants to learn and grow with an interdisciplinary team.
A person who takes initiative and shows attention to quality and detail.
Experience working with CAD software such as AutoCAD or MicroStation
Experience working with GIS software and spatial data.
Experience performing design calculations working with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software.
Strong analytical thinking and communication skills.
Strong technical writing skills and the ability to independently synthesize multiple data points into a single logical justification.

Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Preferred qualifications:
Master's or Advanced degree in Water Resource Engineering or related field
Knowledge of CAD Software such as Bentley

MicroStation/InRoads

and Autodesk Civil3D
Experience with stream restoration design concepts.
Experience with fish passage culvert replacement projects.
Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling using spreadsheet-based tools, and/or software.
Experience with basin delineation, land cover analysis and hydrologic analysis using modeling software such as: HydroCAD, MGSFlood, WWHM, HEC-HMS, StormShed, XPSWMM.
Some experience with 2D hydraulic modeling software such as: SRH-2D, HEC-RAS 2D, TUFLOW and the ability to become highly proficient with SRH-2D modeling.
Ability to identify and analyze geomorphic and sediment transport processes.
Experience preparing construction documents to include plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
