Job Description SummaryThe senior staff engineer will be part of the CMC and EBC materials and processing team whose mission is to advance state of the art CMC's and EBC's and enable CMC technologies. The role will be responsible for executing on broad technology programs that contribute to the overall CMC and EBC strategy. In this role, partnering and leading a cross-functional team from materials, design, and manufacturing will be key to success.Job DescriptionRoles and ResponsibilitiesResponsible for EBC materials and processes technology maturation programs for use in CMC/EBC Aerospace productsResponsible for setting and executing on strategic EBC roadmaps that support component durability, performance, and cost outResponsible for planning and managing engineering budget and resources to execute on EBC projectsPartner with Design and Supply Chain to lead EBC technology maturation programs, support root cause investigations, and other process or material development to support current fielded products like LEAP and GE9XDevelop next generation EBC materials and processes to support future commercial and/or military componentsProblem solve EBC production issues as neededDevelop and support data analytics and modeling of manufacturing processesRequired QualificationsBachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer ScienceAt least 5 additional years of experience in a program or project leadership role within an engineering environmentDesired CharacteristicsTechnical experience with ceramic processingTechnical experience with coatings materials and processesEffective team building and project management abilityStrong oral and written communication skillsStrong interpersonal and leadership skillsKnowledge of EBC materials and processingKnowledge of CMC materials and processingThis role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
