Role: As a Senior Specialist, you will support in externalization and transfer activities related to our large molecule platform. Joining an enthusiastic team, your primary focus will be on sourcing, innovation, negotiation, and contract implementation. This role is challenging, diverse, and complex, requiring flexibility, dynamic thinking, and strong project management skills.
Duties and Responsibilities: + Develop and implement sourcing strategies and cost reduction initiatives.
+ Manage supplier performance and relationship management.
+ Act as a key account manager or "virtual plant manager" for strategic external suppliers.
+ Manage contracting strategy and implementation.
+ Conduct make versus buy assessments.
+ Gain a broad understanding of stakeholder and business needs.
+ Provide sourcing expertise in cross-functional and risk mitigation teams.
+ Identify and promote improvement opportunities with suppliers.
+ The position can be based in the US or Europe (preferred locations: Kansas, Delaware, Pennsylvania, Netherlands, or Belgium).
+ This is a hybrid position, requiring a minimum of 2 days of on-site work per week.
+ The role will require 30-40% domestic and international travel
Required Knowledge and Skills: + Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of relevant work experience (e.g., procurement, R&D, manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, engineering) – OR – 8 – 10 years of experience in procurement, operations, supply chain within a vaccine manufacturing/ large molecule environment
+ Self-motivated, adaptable, and collaborative individual who can work independently with minimal supervision.
+ Strong focus on value creation and cost control with third parties.
+ Experience in Biotechnology operations or managing outsourcing projects.
+ Understanding of global supply chain principles and their application in external manufacturing.
+ Ability to manage multiple complex projects, ensuring on-time delivery through effective communication, organization, time management, and critical thinking skills.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office and knowledge of ERP systems (experience with Ariba is a plus).
+ Excellent English communication skills, both spoken and written.
