Job Summary (includes but is not limited to the following, other duties may be assigned) A tenacious, full-cycle recruiter to support a growing team on the cutting edge of the energy transition. Responsible for identifying, attracting, and hiring top talent in the energy space. Partner closely with hiring managers and cross-functional teams to understand their talent needs and develop effective recruitment strategies. This role requires experience recruiting for growing and transforming industries, as well as a passion for connecting exceptional candidates with exciting opportunities. Work closely with other members of Talent Acquisition, HR, and hiring managers to deliver breakthrough business results by leveraging a combination of research and data, collaborating with key stakeholders to gain an expertise of the business and talent market to create, influence and execute talent strategies and to raise the bar of performance. Job Responsibilities Source Top-Tier Talent for current and future positions: Utilize a myriad of sourcing techniques, including cold calls, referrals, professional organizations, recruitment advertising, universities and technical programs and Internet recruitment sites. Develop short- and long-term recruiting strategies that lend themselves to quickly filling top-priority openings and building diverse, equitable and inclusive teams. Craft and send recruiting pitches: Engage potential candidates with well-crafted, compelling messages that capture the essence of the open role and our company's vision. Partner with Hiring Managers: Regularly liaise with hiring managers to gain an in-depth understanding of the position requirements, team dynamics, and how the role integrates with larger organizational objectives. Build Talent Pipelines: Proactively develop and maintain talent pipelines, ensuring a steady flow of top-tier candidates for both current and future hiring needs. Analyze Data: Track and measure important metrics, such as the number of passive candidates who apply, progress to interviews, receive offers, and ultimately join the team. Utilize this data to refine and improve recruiting strategies. Serve as a consultative partner to hiring managers, working closely with them to deeply understand role requirements, assess interview loop performance, and provide guidance on areas of opportunity. Proactively work with hiring managers and Talent Acquisition team and resources to highly limit the use of outside agencies and create positive resume and applicant flow for all open positions. Works with hiring manager to develop offer proposals in alignment with Calpine's compensation philosophy and pay practices. Ensures the approval of offers proposals by facilitating the information flow to appropriate management and HRCC. Perform moderate travel (primarily domestic) as necessary to various recruiting events. Communicates and negotiates job offers to potential new hires. Participates in the new hire on-boarding process by ensuring the new hires complete all required paperwork in a timely manner and ensure compliance to hiring standards. Communicates and coordinates the new hire start dates. Re-engage Past Applicants: Keep the lines of communication open with previous applicants, updating them about new opportunities that align with their skill sets and career aspirations. Regularly makes decisions on non-routine or escalated issues. Independently prioritizes and executes responsibilities in functional area. Checks own work and possibly the work of others; work results are of the highest quality standards and advanced technical competency. Duties and tasks reflect substantial variety and complexity. Resolves complex issues, conferring with supervisor occasionally; may serve as resource to others in resolution of complex issues Works under limited supervision. Prioritizes own weekly schedule and may guide others in the completion of tasks within clearly defined schedules as set by management. Regularly provides on-the-job skills training to others in. Job Requirements Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business or related field, or equivalent years of working experience. 5+ years of recruiting experience, ideally focusing on senior roles in the in the energy and renewables sectors. A combination of staffing agency and corporate recruiting highly desired. Must project a strong business presence and have the ability to instill confidence in clients and to deliver results. Proven track record of identifying and engaging with senior-level talent, using various tools and techniques. Technologically Savvy: Hands-on experience with leading HR databases, Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), and Candidate Management Systems (CMS). Comfortable navigating and using technology to streamline and improve the recruiting process. Strong Communicator: Verbal and written communication skills stand out. Ability to convey complex ideas in a simple, clear manner and can engage effectively with diverse stakeholders. Effective Time Manager: Knows how to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment, ensuring that both immediate and long-term objectives are met.
