We are looking for a dynamic individual to help build our organization's quality foundation as we expand our capabilities as a product company. We are seeking a candidate who can help us institute quality standards internally and throughout our supplier base in order to scale our reactor production, drive down product costs and ensure performance and reliability. We want candidates who can help establish the foundations of a Quality Management System and reduce product variability through process and quality control. Come join us and help us change the world for the better!Job Responsibilities:Identifies and resolves quality issues through root cause analysis and corrective actions. Conducts inspections and tests on raw materials and finished products. Develops and implements quality control plans and procedures. Monitors and audits supplier quality. Institutes quality systems and processes.Develops the foundations for the company's Quality Management System. Evaluates options, determines approaches, and drives execution in coordination with relevant stakeholders (e.g. management, supply chain, production) to build the initial company quality manual. Maintains awareness of industry best practices for quality and helps implement them.Develops and implements projects to improve the quality and efficiency of production processes. Assists with Lean principles for material handling, manufacturing and assembly procedures, quality control, and facility layout to ensure desired outcomes are achieved. Assists with cost estimates and value engineering studies. Provide strategy for continuous improvement.Ensure timely and satisfactory response to customer/stake holders requests. Interface with cross functional teams, i.e., R&D, Product Development, Supply Chain, Marketing and Sales to address internal and/or external customer concerns.Other projects as assigned.Minimum requirements:* Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or related fields or 7+ years of experience in R&D engineering and manufacturing environmentQuality and Production MethodsAdvanced knowledge of and experience in quality assurance methodologies, including root cause analysis, design of experiments, statistical analysis, continuous improvement, and corrective action planningFamiliarity with production methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, and Total Quality Management (TQM)Ideal candidate will have experience establishing a quality program from the ground upSoftwareExperience with Quality Management Systems (QMS) softwareFamiliarity with CAD software for reviewing designs and specificationsFamiliarity with sourcing and procurement software systems, ERP systemsProficiency with MS Word, PowerPoint; Strong Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, lookups, and proficient in working with large data sets)Standards and RegulationsStrong understanding of industry-specific quality standards and compliance requirements (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO 13485, ASME, chemical plant equipment regulations, quality assurance standards, and industry certifications).Demonstrated commitment to compliance with safety standards and environmental regulationsOtherWillingness to both directly execute quality control activities AND develop & manage the quality systemMust possess critical skills for operating at Syzygy: strong verbal and written communication skills; good interpersonal skills; strong multi-tasking, problem solving, and time management skills; a "self-starter" attitude; risk management, and process control skills; leadership skills; high attention to detailBenefits:Competitive SalaryComprehensive Benefits (medical, dental, vision, life, and disability coverage)Career growth opportunitiesFriendly work environmentPaid vacation/holidaysSyzygy Plasmonics Inc. is an equal opportunity employer
