Aerolab is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a Sr. Project Manager position. The position is full-time. The candidate will be responsible for planning, scheduling, forecasting, resourcing, and managing project activities to ensure project accuracy, quality, and timely completion. The Sr. Project Manager will work as part of a team focused on the design, manufacture, construction, and installation of large aeronautical wind tunnel facilities.
The candidate must be capable of working with multi-discipline projects and must demonstrate excellent project management and supervision skills. The candidate should also have excellent organizational, time management, leadership, and decision-making skills. The candidate will be responsible for coordinating with general contractors, sub-contractors, architects, engineers, fabricators, and owners throughout projects where Aerolab may either serve as a prime contractor, sub-contractor, or independent supplier to an owner. Primary responsibilities will include the creation and management of schedules and budgets, as well as the management of RFIs, submittals, inventory, equipment, and materials.
The Sr. Project Manager we are looking for will have previous experience in project management and construction management from either a general contractor, sub-contractor, specialty equipment manufacturer, A&E firm, or owner team. The ideal applicant will be highly organized, with the ability to plan ahead and multitask in order to meet deadlines and keep projects under budget.
Duties and Responsibilities
The candidate is expected to perform the following routine functions:
• Planning, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring of projects across the organization.
• Maintain an integrated master schedule of projects across the organization
• Establish priorities across disciplines as required to align with the integrated master schedule
• Manage and supervise multiple project engineers who have direct day to day involvement of individual projects.
• Coordinate with design, engineering, and manufacturing teams within the organization for matters related to scheduling and quality management.
• Formulate project parameters and coordinating and monitoring the project team.
• Oversee construction related activities of Aerolab projects
• Perform quality control tasks on budgets, schedules, plans, and personnel performance and reporting on the project's status.
• Cooperate and communicate with management and other project participants and collaborate with senior engineers to create more efficient project methods and to maintain the project's profitability.
• Collaborate with general contractors, subcontractors, engineers, architects and key team members of the project team
• Keep all stakeholders aware of the progress on projects and prepare progress reports regularly
• Create frameworks to measure the project's metrics.
• Determine the necessary equipment, materials, and manpower needed
• Ensure supplies and equipment are ordered and delivered according to schedule
• Ensure project compliance with the applicable codes, safety regulations, practices, policies, performance standards, and specifications.
• Conduct site checks, either directly or through delegated staff, as required, to monitor progress and quality standards
Required Skills
• Proper interpretation of design specifications, drawings, and schematics
• Familiarity with engineering and construction terminology
• Extensive previous work experience managing schedules and budgets for construction projects
• Excellent knowledge of construction materials and equipment
• Proficient in use of Microsoft Project
• Experience with Procore
• Proficient in use of Microsoft Office and Word Processing software
• Good time management skills, high work ethics
• Able to multitask and plan ahead
• Excellent time management skills

• Focused, methodical with good analytical skills
• Able to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos

Education and Experience
• 8+ years of experience as a Project Manager or equivalent role
• BS/BA in Architecture, Engineering, Construction management or other associated field
• PMP certification is preferred
• Experience with complex construction projects valued over $5M, including bidding, scheduling, and financial management
• Experience with Microsoft Project
Location and Travel
• The position is based at Aerolab's main facility in Jessup MD (In person)
• Occasional offsite travel to customer sites may be required
