Position Title: Senior Project Director, Design and Construction
Location: Hybrid Remote position within one of these 5 counties: San Jose, Santa Barbara, Los Angeles, Long Beach, or San Diego
Salary: $117,333.00 to $146,667.00 per year
Pay Frequency: 24 Pay Periods Per Year
Employment Type: Full Time

ABOUT US
We are a statewide leader in the development of affordable and supportive housing communities. Recognizing homelessness as fundamentally a housing issue, our organization, one of California's largest homeless services providers, established our venture in 2007. Since then, we've completed 27 residential projects and are on track to have a total of 44 residential communities in the coming years.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As part of our Real Estate Development team, the Senior Project Director, Design and Construction plays a crucial role in our organization's real estate development activities. Leveraging your skills and experience in affordable housing best practices, you'll take a leadership role in creating Housing First communities for formerly homeless individuals.
Responsibilities include:
- Overseeing overall project progress in terms of budgets and timelines.
- Collaborating effectively with our supportive services team to create service plans, define project target populations and unit mix, and incorporate design recommendations.
- Supporting junior staff to excel in their roles.
- Building and maintaining positive relationships with external partners, including financial institutions, government entities, and consultants.
- Keeping abreast of significant developments and trends in the field.
- Advocating for policies, programs, and funding that support and expand permanent supportive housing.
- Creating and implementing departmental policies and procedures to promote high-quality products and an effective work environment.
DEPARTMENT/PROGRAM SPECIFIC JOB FUNCTIONS
- Overseeing and coordinating construction activities to ensure high-quality, cost-effective outcomes.
- Developing systems for hiring architects and contractors, focusing on quality and value.
- Implementing design standards and ensuring compliance.
- Developing and implementing standards for contracts to protect our organization's interests.
- Collaborating with the Asset Management team on building transfers and compliance.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Four (4) years of experience or combination of experience and relevant education in housing development, business, finance, urban planning, or a related field.
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS
All candidates must:
- Have employment eligibility verification.
- Have or be able and willing to obtain CPR/First Aid training.
- Successfully complete tuberculosis, background screening, and drug tests.
DRIVING REQUIREMENTS
Driving is essential for this position. Candidates must:
- Have reliable transportation.
- Possess a valid driver's license.
- Provide proof of insurance and ownership for personal vehicles used during work duties.
