Senior Program ManagerEpidemiology Location: New Orleans, LASummary The Senior Program Manager works in partnership with faculty and staff members of the Tulane University Translational Science Institute to manage program, administrative and financial aspects of Institute activities. Currently, this includes the Tulane COBRE for Clinical and Translational Research in Cardiometabolic Diseases, the institutional five-year TUTSI award, and several sponsored research and educational projects within the Institute.
The Senior Program Manager oversees the daily program management of the COBRE, TUTSI and other sponsored research awards under the auspices of the Institute throughout their life cycles. This includes proactive facilitation and management of grant and institutional awards; drafting and submission of required reports; supporting program governance and instituting processes to guide daily activities; monitoring program progress; identifying risks and issues and suggesting/implementing corrective measures; coordination of projects and their interdependences; managing the utilizing resources across projects and Institute Cores; managing communication; clarifying and communicating program priorities; tracking and facilitating achievement of program deliverables.
This position oversee the daily administrative operations of the Tulane University Translational Science Institute, which include but are not limited to: hiring and training of staff; organizing and hosting the Institute's Grand Rounds and seminars; developing institute newsletters and annual report; maintaining and updating the Institute's website; coordination and facilitation of internal and external advisory committee meetings; and assistance in evaluation of research programs and the Institute.
The Senior Program Manager oversees all financial aspects of the Institute's sponsored research projects, which include but are not limited to: preparing non-technical aspects of research proposals; developing and monitoring subcontracts; preparing and forecasting budgets; preparing quarterly narrative reports; tracking billing and collections; and reconciling accounts.
Required Qualifications ·Master's Degree in Public Health, Business Administration, or a related field
·2 years of experience related to program management, financial management, and accounting
Preferred Qualifications ·4 years of experience in research and academic program management, preferably in a health-related scientific, research and development, or higher education setting.
