Overview:
The Senior Production Manager provides leadership and expertise in establishing and maintaining an efficient manufacturing program in support of the divisions strategic plan. This position is responsible for coordinating resources and supervising the manufacturing of scheduled production. In addition, this position ensures that scheduled production requirements are met within set budgeted and quality requirements in a safe and orderly manner.

Responsibilities:
Provide the operational leadership of the production organization to meet production requirements for on time delivery, quality, and cost
Develop, monitor, maintain, and improve key performance indicators to measure production performance to targets and daily metrics of production goals vs. achievements
Investigates system and process related problems, recommends, and implements corrective actions
Take immediate steps to remove obstacles to meeting production goals
Ensure production staffing is in place to support capacity and training requirements
Ensure the quality of all products being manufactured in their respective areas are being met
Close collaboration and teamwork with supply chain, quality, manufacturing engineering, and customer service organizations to constantly improve efficiency and reduce lead times
Determines parts supply, maintenance tasks, safety procedures, and service schedule required to maintain machines and equipment in prescribed condition
Ensure that ISO procedures are followed and improved
Prepare cost and budget estimates in support of the budgeting process
Develop and maintain operator efficiency and quality through measurement and reporting of performance
Operates the department in a manner that supports established budgets for volume, scrap and labor
Provide the support and resources to maintain a proactive safety program
Performs management duties including, but not limited to: interviewing and hiring employees, planning, training, scheduling, assigning and directing work, evaluating, appraising and rewarding performance, disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems
Drives process improvement, sees that all projects have accountability, and that promise dates are met

Qualifications:
Must have demonstrated leadership skills to manage staff as well as interact with other functions to successfully achieve results in a proactive, positive way
Must be able to demonstrate leadership, provide tactical supervision, and effectively delegate prioritized work assignments to subordinate staff
Must have excellent communication and team skills to create and effectively maintain positive work environment with co-workers and management
Must have prior experience hiring employees, directing work, and appraising performance
Must be able to exercise independent judgment with limited instruction and guidance
Must possess a working knowledge of mechanical, automation and Work Cell style manufacturing equipment and processes

Education & Experience:
Bachelors Degree required
Minimum 10 years experience in a manufacturing environment required including previous management experience leading production organizations
Minimum 4-6 years management experience required
Experience using ERP systems (Oracle, SAP or other equivalent systems)
