JOB SUMMARY:
The Senior Mechanical Engineer will lead projects and mentor junior engineers.
JOB DUTIES:
Perform as Senior Mechanical Engineer on projects including mechanical engineering scope both in the production and support systems areas.
Independently design process piping systems including routing, sizing, materials selection, and pipe supports.
Assist with Technical portions of Project Meetings internally and with customers.
Responsible for efforts on initial site visits for evaluation of mechanical systems.
Perform complex calculations required to ensure safe and accurate designs.
Evaluate and/or specify mechanical process systems including piping, ductwork and support equipment.
Evaluate general arrangements of process equipment and their utility requirements.
Utilize Revit for system designs and development of drawing packages.
Provide assistance with development of estimates, proposals, and other deliverables.
Coordinate with the project managers and other disciplines to facilitate design of systems.
Comply with Company's Quality Control and Project Management procedures.
Promote a positive working environment in order to achieve the organization's goals.
Perform other duties as assigned.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed in a Vestal Corporation office.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and able to operate a computer and other office equipment.
Must be able to move about the office to access office equipment and other office buildings within the Vestal office complex.
This position frequently communicates with others and must be able to exchange accurate information.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILL / ABILITY / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering is required.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Experience or willingness to learn AutoCAD and Revit is preferred.
Ability to travel.
Requires effective time management skills, personal conduct, and change management abilities.
Ability to effectively interact with co-workers, clients, vendors, and other business contacts.
