We are seeking an experienced
Senior
Mechanical Engineer
to work on high-rise and low-rise residential and commercial projects in Western USA (Washington, Oregon, California).
Reporting Structure & Job Location :
This position will report directly to the Regional Manager and is based out of
Los Angeles, CA office .
Job Responsibilities:
Lead intermediate and junior designers in completing construction documentation
Conduct construction field reviews and prepare review reports
Collaborate with internal and external parties to produce coordinated design solution
Develop design documents, plans, schematics, reports, and calculations in compliance with client standards, company standards, and appliable local codes and regulations
Conduct load calculations and specify mechanical equipment
Provide technical support to OPM construction team and its sub-trades for troubleshooting and time/cost-efficient installation process
Attend internal and external design and construction progress meetings
Provide technical support to the internal BIM clash detection team in resolving conflicts between different building services systems, the building structure, and the building architecture.
Review equipment shop drawings and carry out construction administrative tasks
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
10+ years' of directly related experience
PE Designation considered an asset
Strong background in HVAC, Plumbing, and/or mechanical engineering components
Proficiency with Autodesk products (CAD), Navisworks, Revit, Victaulic Tools, or SysQue is required
Prior experience in an MEP consulting is considered an asset.
Advanced knowledge of MS Office 365 software tools
Work experience in HVAC, plumbing, or sheet metal trades is considered an asset
Skills and Abilities :
Knowledge of American building services codes and standards
Some knowledge of Canadian building services codes and standards is considered an asset but not required
Ability to interpret architectural, structural, and electrical drawings with minimum supervision
Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks
Ability to meet sensitive timelines
Self-motivated and initiative taker on a wide variety of tasks
Thoughtful and confident decision-making and high ethical standards
Proven verbal and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills and a high level of professionalism
Problem-solving skills and the ability to think and react quickly under pressure
