Who We're Seeking: A Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Engineering department within the Flex Air division. At Flex Air, we're dedicated to delivering cutting-edge, energy-efficient HVAC systems and Modular Mechanical and Electrical Buildings tailored to our clients' needs. The Senior Mechanical Engineer will play a pivotal role in reviewing project specifications, researching, designing, and documenting solutions for commercial and industrial HVAC, hydronic plants, and electrical power distribution projects.
Responsibilities: Lead the design of mechanical systems and equipment across diverse industrial applications throughout all design and construction phases. Assess products and components to ensure functionality and performance by conducting thorough research and leveraging experience. Generate, modify, and review 2D and 3D CAD data, product documents, and bills of material to ensure alignment with customer design requirements. Maintain product quality and functionality by developing and reviewing engineering best practices and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, operations, and quality departments to ensure product designs meet the requirements of all key stakeholders. Assist project management by coordinating project schedules and requirements. Evaluate equipment for raw material processing and recommend the purchase of capital equipment designed to enhance production efficiency. Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory obligations (e.g., OSHA, building codes) from an Engineering and Design perspective in accordance with federal, state, or local laws and regulations. Provide mentorship and support to new engineers to facilitate their professional development. Requirements: Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university. Minimum of seven (7) years of concurrent Mechanical Engineering experience or similar market experience. Skills / Experience: Strong foundational knowledge of mechanical, HVAC, and building industries. Manufacturing expertise in welding and sheet metal design. Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD modeling. Excellent root cause analysis skills. Desired knowledge of Mechanical Piping, HVAC design, and Industrial Manufacturing. Experience in modular construction and data centers is advantageous.
