Koch Capabilities Risk Optimization group is seeking a Senior Market Risk Analyst, who is passionate about identifying, quantifying, and modelling investment and trading market risk to provide valuable insights for the Koch Investments capability and portfolio of Koch companies. A successful candidate will have financial market experience, be analytical, possess robust quantitative skills, be an economic and critical thinker, and a continuous learner. This role is a part of the Koch Capabilities' Risk Optimization team and will partner closely with the Koch Investment Management team. What You Will Do Build and apply statistical models to quantify risk exposure and estimate the financial consequences and likelihoods of losses occurring in multi-asset investment and trading portfolios. Provide improvements to current market risk models and systems, including validating and implementing new modelling methods and risk metrics. Collaborate with front office portfolio management team, operations team, and accounting teams to bring risk insights as a value driver to the organization. Interact with senior management on key portfolio risks and profit/loss drivers. Own and improve knowledge systems around enterprise OTC derivative margin risk and partner with compliance and legal related to regulatory compliance. Apply and develop technical capability via risk tools and dashboards to assist with analytics and risk reporting. Prepare, develop, and own various risk reports and insights on trading strategies within investment and trading portfolios. Effective communication of insights to key stakeholders in a way that adds value by driving optimal decision making. Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) Experience in market risk analysis, investment analysis, quantitative modelling, or a related field Ability to converse and understand complex conversations involving financial markets (equities, fixed income, derivatives, etc.) Experience working with cross-asset and cross-product trading or investment risk systems Knowledge of common statistical risk metrics (value at risk, correlation, beta, etc.) Database experience (i.e. SQL) and background in data analysis via programming languages (i.e. Python, R, etc.) Experience being responsible and organizing a cross-functional project or developing a capability that supports key stakeholders. What Will Put You Ahead Experience on a team building and developing a cross-asset and cross-product risk system Knowledge and experience in modeling, valuing, and assessing risk of complex financial instruments and derivatives trades Strong programming background and coding infrastructure knowledge (Python, Git, etc.) Robust statistical knowledge including probability theory, monte-carlo simulation, and passion about translating academic or external research into actionable insights Experience as a supervisor
