Together, we're creating a Universe of fun, always ensuring the next thing we do is better than the last thing we did.JOB SUMMARY:The Senior Manager, Show Programming manages all aspects of the Creative Ride/Show programming and Figure Animation standards. Responsible for the work quality and project assignments of the show programmers. Manages, the show programming staff for the creation and execution for all UC projects. Partners as the Show Programming liaison with other departments to ensure the show programming supports the creative vision while following UC quality and brand standards.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:Mentors and provides guidance and training to staff related to career goals and technical skills. Motivates staff to accomplish assignment goals. Builds bench strength within the team by identifying training and development opportunities. Leads team and communicates job expectations, planning, coaching. Develops and implements policies, procedures, and production and programming standards.Responsible for team's collaboration with attraction design team, media design team, 3rd party media vendors and project engineers to conceive, develop, direct and model integrated ride system/media and/or animated figure-based attractions. Works closely with UC Engineering & Safety to leverage emerging technologies in media delivery, ride systems, show action equipment, animated figures, and special effects to enhance potential guest experiences and expand strategic Universal Parks & resorts systems I.P.Responsible for team's collaboration with UC Engineering & Safety team to capture biometric data necessary to test and ensure safe and enjoyable guest ride experience and safe working conditions for team members. Ensures, with Engineering, the compliance of Health and Safety guidelines to ensure physical parameters of the ride fall within ASTM limits and that the combined effects of motion control, visual presentation, audio environment, and other sensory stimulations are within acceptable Kinetosis boundaries and honor intellectual property rights.Responsible for team's collaboration with the media design team to direct the pre-production, production and post-production efforts of the 3rd party media vendor(s) to ensure media design and production efforts meet the physical (mechanical) parameters of the ride system/motion base and attraction's design intent.Establishes, builds, and maintains positive and productive team relationships based on open communication, trust and teamwork with project partners, departments, disciplines, and personnel. Communicates, inspires, and maintains project intent among all team-members.Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.Performs other duties as assigned.ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:Must have strong communication and collaboration skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment. Supervises 0-7 exempt and non-exempt Team Members.EDUCATION:Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Animation, Theater, Art, Film or Architecture is preferred.EXPERIENCE:10+ years designing experience-based entertainment for world-class theme parks or related industries; must have 9+ years art direction or production design and field experience based on Universal Creative standards; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Your talent, skills and experience will be rewarded with a competitive compensation package.Universal elements and all related indicia TM & © 2024 Universal Studios. © 2024 Universal Orlando.
