We are seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Manager to join our growing Environmental Infrastructure Programs team. In this exciting role, you will play a pivotal part in developing and implementing a new business unit focused on transforming public and private investment in environmental infrastructure.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
1. Collaborating with the Director and team members to design, implement, and oversee new programs aimed at deploying environmental infrastructure in the state, with a strong emphasis on decarbonization and climate resilience.
2. Ensuring that at least 40% of investment and benefits from these programs are directed towards vulnerable communities, as defined by state regulations.
3. Supporting the development, management, and execution of programs and activities that deliver quantifiable climate adaptation, resilience, and decarbonization benefits.
4. Engaging in market research, stakeholder collaboration, and business development to create a robust pipeline of investible projects, including those benefiting low-income and disadvantaged communities.
5. Liaising with state agencies to consolidate existing project pipelines, align programs and initiatives, and support public policies and targets.
6. Effectively managing systems, processes, and cross-team collaboration, including overseeing consultants, vendors, awardees, and advisory committees.
7. Monitoring and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs) and quantifiable climate-related benefits across programs and transactions.
8. Staying current with environmental regulations and ensuring compliance across all programs.
9. Performing research and supporting proposal development for strategic opportunities, especially in vulnerable communities.
10. Supporting priority policy actions that accelerate private capital flow into environmental infrastructure projects and markets.
11. Representing the organization on relevant task forces, committees, and speaking engagements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., environmental science, community planning, conservation resource management) and at least 7 years of relevant experience in program/product creation, project management, environmental infrastructure, conservation finance, community development, municipal finance, nature-based solutions, or resource management.
- A master's degree in a relevant field may substitute for two years of experience.
- Entrepreneurial experience in supporting new program/initiative startups, including transaction origination and completion.
- Strong management, communication, interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Passion for advancing environmental infrastructure and innovative funding/financing models.
- Comfort with uncertainty and an inclination to prevent or solve problems.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
