The University of Southern Indiana is accepting applications for Summer Enrichment Camp Senior Lead Teacher.
The Universityof Southern Indiana is seeking a part-time Summer Enrichment Camp (SEC) Senior Lead Teacher. SECamp takes place from June through July andincludes crafts, games, and enrichment experiences for children in the categories of art, science, fitness, technology and more! Theposition of SEC Senior Lead Teacher provides leadership for all lead teachers in providing a quality, developmentally appropriate curriculumfor each assigned child while maintaining a warm, secure environment for the children, staff, and parents. Some positions may work up to oneweek after camp ends. Duties/Responsibilities
Essential Functions include but not limited to:
* Planand prepare creative and age-appropriate child-centered activities for children. Report to supervisor any issues or concerns that inhibit orprevent quality programming.
* Review all campers' "special needs list" and any staff or parent notes to ensure special needs are met(allergies, medical conditions, etc.).
* Be sensitive to all children's needs and maintain a nurturing atmosphere, treating all childrenand adults with respect.
* Train lead teachers on how to maintain classroom management using appropriate, positive methods. Supervisechildren by sight and/or sound at all times.
* Prepare and serve snacks and supervise lunch. Assist with household duties to maintain aclean, safe environment, which is free from unsightly clutter.
* Report cases of suspected child abuse or neglect to the supervisor andthen to the appropriate agency.
* Maintain knowledge of applicable University and camp policies and procedures. Must respondappropriately during times of emergency, maintaining a calm demeanor and keeping children safe from harm. Required Knowledgeand Skills
* Associate degree or two years of training in an accredited college or university required.
* Work experience ora combination of work experience and education in a closely related field may be substituted when it has provided equivalentpreparation.
* Strong interpersonal skills including a pleasant personality that encourages a cooperative work environment required.
*Effective listening, clear oral communication and strong written communication skills required.
* Effective leadership skills in theplanning and supervision of lead teachers. Preferred Knowledge and Skills Bachelor's degree in EarlyChildhood, Child Development, or Education preferred. Application Process
