Overview In the Payments domain we are working every day to help our corporate clients run their business more smoothly. The clients that will be using and/or benefiting from results of your work are well-known multinational corporates (many of which you know and use their products). Our product monitors key client payments, end-to-end, in order detect major issues before they do and to provide them a real-time view of payment status on mobile and web apps. The result of your work will be directly influencing key profitability metrics of the Bank and you will contribute towards applications that perform operational monitoring to run our business across the globe. The Senior Engineer proposes the design and architecture of the application or its components, investigates and proposes appropriate technologies to be used, creates re-usable frameworks, and drives standardization where possible.

What You'll Do Collaborate with engineers to participate and contribute to design discussions and specifications
Be part of a talented software team that works on mission-critical applications
Java/Java EE application development in an Agile Collaborative environment while providing expertise in the full software development lifecycle, from concept and design to development & testing
Partner at varying capacities, with the user interface (UI) /UX design team, architects, business analysts and stakeholders situated in multiple regions and time-zones to understand requirements, designing, developing, and delivering high-volume, low-latency applications for mission-critical systems
Collaborate with engineers to participate and contribute to design discussions and specifications, Perform technical analysis to present pros and cons of various solutions to problems
Skills You'll Need Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent
Moderate software development experience using Java11+ and related technologies with experience server-side Java Developer including multi-threading, Architectural Design Patterns, Highly optimized, Low latency and Massively Scalable Platforms, developing application using Java, Spring, Microservices and RESTful services, source control (Git, bitbucket), build tools (Maven, Gradle) and continuous integration (TeamCity / Jenkins), building and deploying applications for cloud technologies like Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Fabric or Azure(not mandatory but preferred), and Java, Python, Docker, Kubernetes, and automated testing for Data-driven projects
Experience implementing applications onto Google Cloud Platform (GCP)) to define cloud native application architectures (such as microservices) and Unix Shell scripting & Windows platforms with familiarity writing Structured Query Language (SQL), optimizing, and simplifying existing queries
Strong in Kafka & Message Queue (MQ) Messaging technologies around publishing & subscribing to topics, partitioning etc
Knowledge of Agile process. Having KanBan knowledge is preferred (Knowledge of other languages (Python, Scala) would be a plus)
Skills That Will Help You Excel Excellent problem solving skills in a distributed, multi-technology ecosystem with Quantitative, analytical, confident, articulate, enthusiastic and able to operate independently
Must have advanced skills & experience working with high volumes of data & comfortable making design decisions keeping performance in mind
Good to have - working experience on automation frameworks like jBehave or Cucumber
Very strong written and oral communication skills to wide ranging audiences from offshore developers to traders
Product knowledge relevant to pricing and risk of multiple asset classes
Expectations It is the Bank's expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the Cary office in accordance with the Bank's hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in Cary is $100,000 to $142,250. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
