Provides technical expertise and may coordinate some day to day deliverables for a team. Assists in the technical design of large business systems; builds applications, interfaces between applications, understands data security, retention, and recovery. Can research technologies independently and recommend appropriate solutions. Contributes to technology-specific best practices & standards; contributes to success criteria from design through deployment, including, reliability, cost-effectiveness, performance, data integrity, maintainability, reuse, extensibility, usability and scalability; contributes expertise on significant application components, vendor products, program languages, databases, operating systems, etc., and guides less experienced staff during the build and test phases.
Your Primary Responsibilities:
Collaborate with teams of software engineers on multiple and complex software development efforts, determine process improvements and suggest best practices.Analyze, develop, and code technology solutions following Agile methodologyAnalyze, reverse-engineer code and propose/code technology solutionsClose partnership with QA and other agile members and helps with the test-case preparation and automationSupport development teams, testing, troubleshooting, and production supportCreate applications and construct unit test cases that ensure compliance with functional and non-functional requirementsWork with peers to mature ways of working, continuous integration, and continuous deliveryAligns risk and control processes into day-to-day responsibilities to monitor and mitigate risk; escalates appropriately.**NOTE: The Primary Responsibilities of this role are not limited to the details above. **
Talents Needed for Success:
08+ years of hands-on software development experience in designing, implementing large, complex, distributed systemsMust have backend core java experience working with advanced topics such as multi-threading, concurrency, state machine management, etc...Extensive knowledge in client/server and object-oriented software development utilizing Core Java, JSON, MQ, JMSExperience with understanding complex business flows and building solutions that meet complex requirements from businessKnowledge of different Java surrounding technology and protocols and how they are used in enterprise applications (HTTP, TCP, XML, Multicast, Distributed Caching, etc.)Extensive experience with Web Application Development (Containers)Knowledge and proficiency in Kubernetes/Docker (RedHat OpenShift or similar)Big Plus: User Interface (UI) development such as Angular but not requiredKnowledge of relational databases including Oracle and Mid-Tier to Database development principles. PostgreSQL is also very nice to haveDeep understanding of large-scale enterprise systems and their architectureMust be proficient in Maven compiled applicationsProficiency in various phases of the system development life cycle including project planning, analysis, design, programming, and unit-testingSolid experience in software development using CI/CD toolsExpert and proficient in Linux, Shell, and Perl scriptingFamiliarity with different software development methodologies especially Agile (Waterfall, Agile, Scrum, Kanban)Excellent communication skillsExperience in Financial industry a strong plus
