Senior IT Procurement Specialist (Remote) Location Remote in Rockville, MD : Westat is an employee-owned corporation providing research services to agencies of the U.S. Government, as well as businesses, foundations, and state and local governments. Job Summary: Westat is seeking a Senior IT Procurement Specialist who will be involved in the purchasing of computer equipment and software and be responsible for the developing of relationships with IT vendors for negotiating prices and contracts for IT products. You will contribute to the planning for IT purchases and budgets and the development and support of IT financial and contract management practices, processes, and policies. Job Responsibilities: Collaborate with Westat's Purchasing department to research and evaluate products and services related to IT equipment and software purchases. Participate in negotiating prices and contracts with vendors to ensure cost-effective purchases. Manage supplier relationships and conduct supplier performance evaluations in coordination with Purchasing. Develop and maintain IT inventory records and procurement schedules for IT equipment and software. Assist Purchasing to ensure compliance with organizational and industry standards and regulations for purchasing and information security. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to establish purchasing goals and strategies. Monitor market trends and technological advancements to inform purchasing decisions. Provide support and guidance to end-users on purchasing processes and procedures. Conduct market research for new suppliers and products to consider for future purchasing needs. Basic Qualifications: Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. 8-10 years of experience in purchasing of IT products. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with IT Professionals and IT Management staff. Other Required Qualifications: Demonstrated communication skills. Collaboration with teams, managers and/or clients. Organization skills, including time management ability. Detail oriented. Computer Systems and Applications Pay Range
The anticipated salary for this position is $93,500 - $120,000 and will commensurate with experience.
