Job Description The Sr Director of Learning & Development is responsible for being the center of expertise on early childhood education that can be leveraged throughout the organization including product development, professional development, thought leadership, marketing, and strategy at Frog Street.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Thought Leadership Lead Lead internal efforts to facilitate strong cross-organizational collaboration to leverage the expertise of various individuals within Frog Street to amplify a consistent perspective on various ECE thought leadership topics via multiple channels. Responsible for increasing brand awareness of Frog Street through active participation in appropriate ECE speaking opportunities at conferences, events, and department of Ed level meetings. Establish and articulate thoughtful, and research-backed positions on relevant ECE topics as related to Frog Street solutions (e.g. Science of Reading, STEAM, SEL, etc) through multiple channels (e.g. at events, via blogs, opinion pieces on social media, etc) Where relevant, serve as a Keynote speaker for specific Frog Street customers Research & Efficacy Lead Lead Frog Street's efforts on research and efficacy of its solutions with external research organization. Establish and build relationships with new research organizations if needed. Work alongside research organizations and internal stakeholders to establish research design and feasibility within budgetary and time constraints. Editorial, Content Creation & Assessment Guidance Collaborate with curriculum development team to align content with early childhood education curricula and best practices. Review and edit educational content materials, including lesson plans, activity guides, and multimedia resources, to ensure accuracy, clarity, and age-appropriate language. Provide feedback to improve content quality and educational value. Serve as the key liaison and expert on the linkage of early childhood assessment and instruction. Work with the product & PD teams on how our existing learning progressions are utilized in partner assessment organizations as well as the transition roadmap of the current assessment tool (AIM Observational & CRT) using Frog Street learning progressions. Consult on enhancements, supplementary materials, and interactive elements to enrich the learning experience for young children. Marketing & Sales Guidance Collaborate with the Marketing team to provide guidance and expertise to ensure that Frog Street offerings are positioned advantageously in marketing materials. Serve as the center of expertise on ECE topics and appropriateness for marketing content. Contribute to content marketing materials where appropriate (e.g. blogs, events, etc.) Participate in select sales activities where ECE expertise is required and beneficial. Competitive Analysis & Frog Street Positioning of Offerings: Responsible for understanding the early education industry to recognize trends, opportunities, and competitive areas of growth. Advise on the competitive position of the Frog Street curriculum, technology platform, and professional development solution to help create advantageous pricing and value proposition for key customer segments Work closely with the Growth & Strategy team to identify market needs and trends in ECE to help develop insights into product roadmap and sunset process. Qualifications Masters degree; Doctorate in early childhood education domain preferred Prior experience in content editing and educational content development is preferred. Strong understanding of early childhood development and educational principles. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards of content quality. Familiarity with digital tools and platforms used in content creation and editing Passion for early childhood education and a dedication to improving learning experiences for young children. Experience with leading cross-functional team, including high level visioning and support around specific tasks and project management. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in written and oral mediums with administrators, teachers, and other advocates in the ECE space.
