This is a senior leadership position, responsible for the oursourced Clinical Engineering function with direct responsibility for the administration of the Clinical Engineering outsourced contracts, capital program and day to day operational escalations. This individual is responsible for the strategic planning and standardization of Jefferson Health's clinical engineering program. The incumbent ensures that
the Clinical Engineering strategy
is in alignment with enterprise business strategy.
Enforces departmental processes and procedures for change management, incident management, configuration management, and downtime management.
Ensures that all systems placed into production have support plans, SLAs, and conform to departmental best practices. Ensures prompt operating failure recovery and prevention including 7x24 monitoring and support
Serve as the senior leader of clinical engineering responsible for all clinical engineering support through the outsourcing vendor
Provide ongoing triage of incoming escalations to outsurced vendor including adjudication and redirection of teams onsite
Manage the yearly Capital appropriation in collaborate in collaboration with clinical stakeholder group (CTAC)
Manage the outsourced contract spend ensuring adherence to the outsourced agreement, provide forecasting, and minimize any overages.
Manage clinical engineering projects, e.g. smart pump rollout, and related special projects. e.g. RTLS for moveable equipment
Develop and continually optimize a long-term biomed strategy
OTHER FUNCTIONS AND COMPETENCIES
:
Ability to rapidly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies in clinical engineering
Manage the day to day operations, escalations, and executive engagement of biomed inclusive of the outsource relationship
Play a lead and facilitator role for all the biomed interaction with the CTAC including tactical/operational needs, escalations and engagement, as well a multiyear capital strategy planning for biomed devices
Provide regular written and verbal updates at all appropriate clinical and operational meetings where biomed is required to make updates
As applicable, look for opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness, including ensuring outsourcing vendor is held to their contracted SLAs
Play a program oversight role for the major clinical projects
Ensure there is effective management reporting over the clinical engineering capital portfolio
Ability to translate business needs into requirements and estimate the financial impact of alternatives
Capable and comfortable with balancing time between foundational (ensures efficiency and predictability) and strategic efforts

In conjunction with the leadership, the solution center, and IT staff, provides continuous on-call coverage for mobility services. May be required to help coordinate emergency restoration activities.

Qualifications
EDUCATIONAL/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS :
Bachelor's degree in business, business, clinical engineering, system analysis or a related field of study. Master's Degree preferred.
