Position: Senior ETL Developer
Location: Boston, MA, Hybrid (Tuesday and Wednesday in-person)
Position Description:
The Center for Health Information and Analysis (CHIA) is seeking a talented Talend Senior ETL Developer to assist with the development efforts of converting an existing ETL system to the Talend ETL technology for approximately one year. The position requires the candidate to take a senior role in bringing this new Talend project from initiation to completion and all tasks in between
Using the Talend ETL toolset, to create new and maintain existing ETL jobs. Support the development of data transformation logic using ETL tools or scripting languages like SQL, Bash, Python, etc. Collaborate with Team members to understand source system structures and data retrieval methods/techniques, and tools within the organization. Design and develop database tables necessary along with the necessary constraints as per the requirement. Design and implement ETL for extracting and transforming data from diverse sources, such as: Snowflake, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server databases. Clean, validate, and transform data to conform to target schema and quality standards. Participate in troubleshooting activities to maintain data integrity and process efficiency. Work with the Team to execute data quality improvement plans. Comfortable working under tight deadlines while maintaining well organized, detailed, and process-oriented work habits. Excellent communication skills: verbal and written, along with excellent documentation skills. Effective at managing competing priorities and can work independently with little or no supervision. Working knowledge and understanding of HIPAA policies and working with PII and PHI sensitive data. Ability to work independently in a hybrid work environment. Able to create/modify tables, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and other DB objects. Experience with Snowflake, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server database technologies. Experience with cloud technologies (Azure/AWS) and Microsoft DevOps Git Repos. Highly familiar with Talend Data Fabric tool, ESB, and MDM development tasks and processes, particularly creating ETL from Technical specifications and converting ETL from other third part ETL tools and other frameworks. Experience in developing projects using Talend with Data Integration and Cloud Integration working with large datasets. Three years' experience database, data warehouse, ETL, business intelligence, or software development. Five years' experience working for a health data organization performing ETL Development activities. Five years' experience with Talend Data Fabric in a professional environment.
