As the Senior Designer, you will take charge of our design initiatives, overseeing the entire design process, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and ensuring the creation of high-quality, cost-effective solutions. Key Responsibilities Design Leadership: Lead the entire design development process from concept through construction, ensuring all projects meet specific requirements, codes, and standards. Utilize top-tier design software to create detailed site plans, grading and drainage designs, utility layouts, and other critical design documents. Project Collaboration and Management: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to develop design concepts that align with project goals and meet client expectations. Participate in project meetings, deliver presentations, and conduct site visits to communicate design intentions and track progress. Technical Evaluation and Documentation: Conduct comprehensive site evaluations and feasibility studies to assess conditions and inform design decisions. Prepare construction drawings, specifications, and cost estimates, integrating sustainable practices and best design methods. Mentorship and Team Support: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior design staff, promoting a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Regulatory Compliance and Stakeholder Engagement: Coordinate with external consultants, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to secure approvals, permits, and resolve any issues. Ensure that all project deliverables are completed on time and within budget, while proactively identifying and addressing potential risks and challenges.
Qualifications Educational Requirements: Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, landscape architecture, or a closely related field is required. Master's degree in a relevant field is preferred. Professional Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in site development design, with demonstrated leadership in projects from inception through construction. Technical Proficiency: Expertise in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Autodesk Revit, or other relevant design software. Strong understanding of civil engineering principles and knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to site development and land use planning. Certifications and Licenses: Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Landscape Architect (RLA) license is preferred. LEED accreditation or other sustainable design certifications are advantageous. Communication and Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, capable of effectively collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and conveying complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
