Alden Laurel is immediately hiring an account manager for our fine gardening division.

Position: Horticultural Account Manager

This is a full-time seasonal position. Our season runs mid March through early December.

As a Horticultural Field Account Manager at Alden Laurel, you will take on a vital role in cultivating and maintaining strong client relationships, specializing in residential horticultural maintenance. Managing 25-40 clients, your responsibilities will encompass:

Team Leadership:

In this field role, you will lead Crews and Gardeners, serving as a horticultural mentor and supporting daily time management. Your role includes identifying and delivering educational opportunities to enhance the team's expertise.

Client Engagement:

Collaborate closely with clients to understand their specific preferences, plant choices, and aesthetic goals. Execute all necessary seasonal maintenance while providing expert advice and design solutions tailored to their unique vision.

Project Oversight:

Independently manage horticultural client accounts, overseeing projects from conception to completion. Monitor project timelines, budgets, and quality standards with a keen focus on horticultural excellence.

Plant Selection and Care:

Leverage your horticultural expertise to recommend and assist the selection, planting, and ongoing care of diverse plant species. Ensure that horticultural projects align with the clients' desires and thrive over time.

Communication:

Maintain transparent and effective communication with clients, updating them on project progress, addressing inquiries, and ensuring their satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.

Record Keeping:

Keep meticulous records of client interactions, horticultural project details, and financial transactions. Utilize organizational tools to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.

Issue Resolution:

Proactively identify and address any horticulturally specific challenges or concerns that may arise during project implementation. Work collaboratively with the team to find timely and effective solutions.

To excel in this role, you should possess:

Horticultural Expertise:

Proven experience in horticulture or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years required.

Client-Centric Focus:

A passion for understanding clients' horticultural preferences and translating them into thriving plant landscapes.

Team Leadership:

Demonstrated success in team leadership and building, showcasing a proven track record. Possess the ability to effectively collaborate with individuals at various stages in their careers, fostering a supportive and inclusive team environment.

Organizational Skills:

Strong organizational abilities to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and client expectations effectively..

Communication Skills:

Excellent communication skills specific to horticulture, allowing you to confidently interact with clients, team members, and contractors.

Adaptability:

Enjoy working in a physically demanding, dynamic horticultural environment and demonstrate the ability to handle various situations with a positive attitude.
