JOB SUMMARY/OVERVIEW
Statebridge, a leading loan special servicer with a national presence, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Controller to oversee our mortgage servicing financial operations. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of mortgage servicing, a robust financial background, and a proven track record in financial management and reporting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee all accounting and financial operations related to mortgage servicing, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
Develop and implement robust financial controls and procedures specifically tailored to mortgage servicing operations.
Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements.
Analyze financial data to identify trends, forecast future implications, and prepare strategic recommendations for senior management.
Coordinate with internal and external auditors to facilitate comprehensive audits and ensure that all financial practices adhere to regulatory standards.
Manage the budgeting process, including forecasting, variance analysis, and corrective action planning specific to mortgage servicing.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance systems and processes affecting the financial health of the mortgage servicing portfolio.
Provide leadership and guidance to the accounting team, fostering an environment of continuous improvement and professional growth.
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or MBA preferred.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in financial management, with at least 3 years in a senior role within mortgage servicing.
Strong understanding of mortgage servicing processes, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
Demonstrated experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting, specifically in a mortgage servicing context.
Expertise in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial regulations.
Proficient in financial software and systems relevant to mortgage servicing.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Strong leadership abilities and experience managing a team.
Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of:
Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Internet Explorer)
Advanced Excel Skills
Ability to discretely handle highly confidential information.
Servicing Director experience preferred.
