The Senior Engineer activities for Controls include contributing to the design, development, troubleshooting, and verification of closed loop control systems for products, solutions, and systems for the Aviation industry.At GE Aerospace in Dayton, OH the EPISCenter is the headquarters for all of Aviation Power Engineering. GE Aerospace to invest up to $20 million to add a new test cell and equipment at the Electrical Power Integrated Systems Center (EPISCenter) in Dayton, Ohio, to meet increased demand for hybrid electric aircraft engine component testing in coming years.Job DescriptionRoles and ResponsibilitiesAnalyze customer requirements and select best power converter topologies to meet the requirementsCreate control algorithms and simulate power systems using MATLAB/Simulink andPLECSor equivalent simulation tools to support design effortsWork with software team to implement embedded control algorithms in digital signal processors and/or FPGA as the application dictates.Tune the control loops, troubleshoot, and verify control algorithms for power electronic products such as converters and inverters that control various equipment such as motor/generators in the lab environmentTest embedded motor controller or power electronic circuits through digital communication, debugger, oscilloscope, logic analyzer, and Bode plot machines in a lab environmentWork with customers both internal and external to troubleshoot issuesLead the validation efforts to test functionality of equipmentRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university or collegeMinimum of 6 years of experience within an engineering roleThis role requires use of technical data subject to U.S. Government contract restrictions and this posting is only for U.S. Citizens.
