Job DescriptionThe Center for International Research, Education, and Development (CIRED) is a university-wide center within Virginia Tech's Division of Outreach and International Affairs (OIA). It supports the university's international mission by identifying and pursuing partnerships and funding opportunities for Virginia Tech faculty members in order to advance the university's discovery, teaching and outreach missions through work in developing countries. CIRED matches university expertise and experience to sponsors' objectives in order to win funding for projects that improve people's lives and enriches the international dimension of the university's curriculum and research. This engagement strengthens faculty and student capabilities for high-quality, multidisciplinary international engagement.The senior associate director for finance and administration reports to the CIRED executive director and provides oversight of CIRED's finances and human resources. This includes supervision and performance evaluation of the center's financial team, departmental accounting, departmental and grant personnel actions, management of international LLC, research and setup/oversight of in-country offices, working with multiple foreign currencies and regulations, review of large and complex RFPs, cost proposal development and submission, oversight of contract and grant accounting, administration of cost share tracking and documentation, preparation of monthly and ad hoc financial analysis and reporting for grants, contracts, and the department.
