Company:

Loft Federal

Details of the offer

About Loft

Loft Federal is dedicated to providing the US national security space community with a rapid, affordable, and simplified pathway to orbit for any small satellite mission. We are a US-incorporated, wholly-owned subsidiary of Loft Orbital Solutions, Inc.

At Loft, we empower our team members with autonomy and ownership to tackle significant challenges, all while fostering a close-knit and supportive team environment. We believe that diversity, community, and inclusivity are the cornerstones of an open culture. We place significant value on kind, supportive, and team-oriented comrades with phenomenal problem-solving and communication skills.

Are you ready to embark on this exciting journey with us?

At Loft, our mission is to simplify access to space for our customers to collect information about the Earth. We offer comprehensive space infrastructure and operational services to meet the diverse needs of our clientele, whether they require a constellation, a single satellite, or the integration of multiple payloads on a single satellite.

As an AIT Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the successful construction and testing of our satellites before they embark on their missions. This positions offers a dynamic and multidisciplinary experience, where no two days will ever feel the same. You'll collaborate closely with various departments within Loft. You may be working with the Mechanical team to determine payload arrangement, the Electrical team to design harnesses, the Systems team on requirements and verification, the Programs team on scheduling, the Software team on debugging, and the Product team for hardware testing.

Within the AIT team, you'll be instrumental in designing and executing functional, performance, and environmental testing of the payloads and completed satellite. Effective communication and meticulous documentation will be essential aspects of your role, alongside a strong penchant for troubleshooting and debugging. We're seeking a candidate who thrives in this unique environment, where adaptability and innovation are celebrated. If you're someone who relishes challenges and seeks to make a meaningful impact in the realm of space exploration, then this role is tailor-made for you.

Responsibilities
Lead the construction and meticulous testing of satellites prior to launch, ensuring every component is primed for optimal performance in space.
Collaborate closely within the Loft team to rigorously test and verify internally developed products, guaranteeing the seamless delivery of final flight-ready products to their respective missions.
Undertake both electrical and select mechanical integration tasks, expertly incorporating payloads onto the satellite platform to ensure seamless functionality.
Conduct comprehensive environmental testing at both the box and system levels, encompassing vibration, thermal vacuum (TVAC), and electromagnetic interference (EMI) assessments to validate performance under real-world conditions.
Spearhead the authorship and meticulous execution of test procedures, ensuring adherence to stringent quality standards throughout the testing process.

Requirements
The ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance is required. Because this position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Additionally, an active DoD Secret clearance is required, with the capability to obtain Top Secret clearance. Active Top Secret clearance, particularly with recent experience within the last 2 years, or active involvement in Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) programs, is strongly desired.
Preference will be given to candidates with 1) a DoD or Intelligence Community Top Secret background investigation with at least 3 years of eligibility remaining or CE status; and SCI eligibility with current experience in SCI programs, other control systems, and/or Special Access Programs, or 2) a current in-scope DoD SECRET background investigation with at least 3 years of eligibility remaining, or Continuous Evaluation (CE) status, along with willingness and ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.

Experience and Qualifications
Possess a minimum of 5 years (3 years with a graduated degree) in a testing role or a related field, preferably within the aerospace industry.
Proficiency in writing, executing, and documenting tests is essential.
Hands-on experience with environmental testing, including Vibration, Thermal Vacuum (TVAC), Electromagnetic Interference (EMI), and Radiation testing.
Demonstrated capability in orchestrating test campaigns from inception to completion.
Familiarity with aerospace testing standards such as GEVS (General Environmental Verification Standard), etc.
Proficiency in using software for testing, with preference given to experience with Python.
Experience in designing or constructing harnesses for flight or test purposes.
Ability to configure Ground Support Equipment (GSE) for testing purposes.

$91,000 - $184,000 a year

Per Colorado law, we are required to disclose the base compensation range for this role. This range is intentionally wide as we assess candidates based on their unique abilities and experience to find the best fit for our needs. Ultimately, your compensation will be influenced by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.

In addition to a comprehensive salary and benefits package, you will find a truly remarkable culture guided by transparency and collaboration and work that is invigorating and meaningful. We can't wait to meet you and see what you may add to our team!

We are an equal opportunity employer. You will be considered for employment without attention to race, age, color, religion, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, marital status, national origin or ancestry, veteran status, genetic information, disability, or pregnancy.
