We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join the team in a consulting capacity for a contract position for 4-5 months. This role will involve a hybrid work arrangement, combining remote work with occasional on-site presence. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing critical accounting tasks and providing support during the contract period. The ideal candidate has a strong background in accounting, financial analysis, and experience in month-end closing activities.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the outgoing employee to ensure a smooth transition by cross-training and assuming responsibilities for month-end closing activities. Manage the month-end close process, including preparing and reviewing journal entries, conducting account reconciliations, and analyzing variances. Support the accruals process, ensuring accurate recording of expenses and liabilities. Prepare and review the monthly reporting package, including financial statements, variance analysis, and key performance indicators. Maintain and update the financial dashboard, providing real-time insights to management. Respond to ad hoc requests from management and other departments, providing timely and accurate financial information. Complete assigned personal tasks and additional responsibilities as required. Perform pre-month end closing duties, including data gathering, analysis, and preparation of necessary documents. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes and identify areas for efficiency gains. Provide support in other accounting and finance tasks as needed. Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; CPA certification is preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Senior Accountant or in a similar role, with a strong background in month-end closing activities. Experience in managing accruals, conducting account reconciliations, and preparing financial reports. Proficient in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and quality in all deliverables. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Understanding of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
