What You'll Do Maintain accurate and complete records related to the general ledger and subledgers and requisite documentation for an audit trail (i.e., invoices, receipts, etc.) Take ownership over monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting reconciliations including, but not limited to, cash, accounts receivable, prepaid assets, fixed assets, payroll liabilities, accounts payable, and other liabilities and accruals On a monthly basis, manage expense reporting for discretionary employee spend and recurring company spend Assist the community Directors in developing annual budgets, financial projections, and data compilation for annual external review / audit Ensure accurate calculation of monthly sales force commissions, complete in a timely manner for payroll processing Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual financial analyses/statements including balance sheet, income statements, bank reconciliations, review of A/P and A/R, journal entries, general ledger. Develop into a key liaison with vendors and suppliers to ensure charges are accurate and that disbursements are issued in a timely manner Participate in ongoing education opportunities to learn about industry trends and developments, accounting standards updates, and company policies and procedures Ensure compliance with internal accounting procedures, as well as state and federal regulations Assist with tax audits and tax returns, and certain tax and regulatory filings as required. What You'll Bring Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field and at least 3 years' experience in Accounting, Finance, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience Working knowledge of US GAAP Hands-on experience with accounting software packages, like Yardi Advanced MS Excel skills Versatility and adaptability A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently and take initiative with little direction Must be trustworthy, analytical and solution-oriented with excellent problem-solving abilities, superior follow-up skills, strong time management, a sense of urgency and the ability to shift gears frequently throughout the day Excellent verbal and written communication skills Nice to Have: CPA Certification Public accounting experience Experience within an unstructured, entrepreneurial work environment
