Manufacturer/supplier to the medical device industry is seeking a Senior Accountant. This role will be responsible for performing financial analysis, assisting in the preparation of financial statements, month end account reconciliations, ownership of the fixed asset system , bank account reconciliations and the preparation of journal entries. Other ad hoc tasks as needed in support of the Assistant Controller or other members of the finance team. This is a hands-on role for an ambitious professional with multi-tasking abilities, the desire to improve processes, reduce cycle time and take on projects to expand their resume.
Complex general ledger month-end/year-end reporting & reconciliations with heavy use of Excel to manage & manipulate data Solid understanding of ERP systems and how transactions flow and impact the relevant subsidiary ledgers and general ledger.  Work collaboratively with Finance team members, perform general accounting functions including preparation of journal entries, account analysis and supporting schedules with high transaction volume. Ability to perform a thorough analysis of balance sheet and income statement accounts - tasks to be performed include recommending/executing correcting entries, raising potential issues for discussion, identifying problem accounts, analyzing balances for accuracy and completeness, and proposing accrual or deferral entries as appropriate. Partner with FP&A to develop general ledger allocations and divisional reporting. Take ownership of assigned areas in month end close as needed, own account set up and monthly close systematic process. Advanced understanding of overall balance sheet reconciliation process, particularly around prepaids, CIP/Fixed Assets and accruals Maintain Fixed Asset ledger, including set up and closure of projects, record depreciation, reconcile accounts. Follow up on and remediate any discrepancies in a timely manner. Record various accruals for accounts payable and payroll related items. Reconcile assigned general ledger accounts and clear out "old" items, where necessary, to ensure each reconciliation stands on its own. Prepare multiple state sales & use tax filings, local property tax reports, and US Government census reports. Assist with external audit requests, acting as liaison to external auditors. Process map existing processes and provide recommendations to the Assistant Controller to streamline or eliminate work. Maintain a strong sense of integrity and business partnering while performing all tasks. Other projects and analysis as directed and/or needed by the business. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or equivalent combination of education and experience required 3-5 years of financial analysis and/or accounting experience, with a working knowledge of manufacturing processes. Proficient with the use of ERP systems and ability to pull detail data to support account analysis. Highly proficient in Microsoft Office programs: Word, PowerPoint and Outlook. Advanced proficiency in Excel is required (Pivot Tables, vLookups, SumIfs, etc.) Good understanding of cost accounting and variances Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently, with little supervision in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of flexibility and tolerance of change. Outstanding organizational and analytical skills Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to work in a collaborative team environment Ability to multi-task and work with increasing transaction volume with a high degree of flexibility and sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment Energetic, passionate, and positive can-do attitude a must Desire to be a part of a growing business Ability to make the complex simple. Goal oriented with the desire to take on new and challenging opportunities beyond their current scope. Possesses good judgement and influencing skills, and the ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures. Salary Range $110,000 - $115,000
