Our client is searching for a highly motivated and experienced Senior Corporate Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting system, with a specific focus on the manufacturing sector. You will collaborate closely with various departments, including production, engineering, and procurement, to gain a deep understanding of our operations and translate that knowledge into insightful financial analysis.
Responsibilities: Oversee the entire accounting cycle for manufacturing operations, including cost accounting, inventory management, and variance analysis. Prepare and analyze financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement) in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and relevant industry standards. Manage month-end close procedures, ensuring timely and accurate completion. Reconcile bank statements, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. Analyze variances between standard and actual costs, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions to improve efficiency and profitability. Maintain a strong understanding of internal controls and implement procedures to safeguard financial data. Support the external audit process by providing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries. Participate in the budgeting and forecasting process, providing financial insights to support strategic decision-making. Stay up-to-date on the latest accounting pronouncements and industry best practices. May supervise and mentor junior accounting staff. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field. CPA certification preferred. Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior corporate accounting role within the manufacturing industry. Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, inventory management, and variance analysis. Proficient in accounting software (e.g., ERP systems) and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
