Come join our growing team! Standard Wellness is hiring a Sr. Accountant to join our Finance team. This positions primary work location can be Cleveland or Gibsonburg, Ohio.Position Summary:The Sr. Accountant position will work closely with the Controller and Vice President of Finance on a variety of core accounting and finance functions essential to running a fast paced, ever-evolving cannabis business.Essential Job Functions:Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including recording journal entries, and adjustments. Monitor account balances and investigate and resolve any discrepancies as needed.Oversee the accounting and tracking of inventory, including monitoring stock levels, performing periodic physical counts, and reconciling inventory records. Ensure compliance with regulations related to cannabis inventory tracking and reporting.Maintain inventory costing model to accurately track and allocate costs related to cannabis cultivation, production, and distribution. Analyze and report on cost variances and provide recommendations for cost-saving measures.Assist in preparation of month end consolidated financials and conduct financial analysis, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and key performance indicator (KPI) reporting. Provide insights and recommendations to improve financial performance and operational efficiencyResponsible for customer invoicing and management of accounts receivableCollaborate with sales and operations teams to develop annual budget and monthly/quarterly forecastingOther duties as assigned by your supervisorQualifications:Required:Must be at least 21 years of ageBachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent requiredMinimum 3-years experience completing month end close cyclesStrong level of GAAP accounting and financial statement knowledgeStrong user of MS Excel including Pivot tables and various complex formulas used in data analysisStrong understanding of the Chart of Accounts and how various accounts impact the financial statementsMust be able to pass all background check and licensing requirements as set forth by the Department of Commerce.Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.Preferred:Prior QuickBooks experiencePrior Cost Accounting experiencePrior ERP implementation experienceKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:This section outlines the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for the Sr. Accountant to be successful in their role.
