JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Accounts Payable Specialist
LOCATION: Soboba Economic Development Corporation, Roadrunner Express
REPORTS TO: Accounting Manager
EMPLOYMENT TYPE Non-Exempt - Hourly - Full-Time
SUMMARY
The Accounts Payable Specialist will accurately process all accounts payable invoices and prepare statistical worksheets that the Accounting Manager may need.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Although other duties may be assigned, the essential duties include the following:
* Determines the correct coding of invoices.* Will do the input into the accounts payable system.* Processes weekly check runs and ACH invoices for Board signatures.* Responsible for maintaining an accurate and up-to-date filing system of all invoices.* Audits and maintains files and records pertaining to invoices, purchases, supplies, and related functions.* Assist with the year-end 1099 reconciliations, budgets, and audits.* Coordinates check requests for SEDC and all affiliated businesses.* Establishes new vendors/consultants in the accounting system.* Enter all deposits into the accounting system.* Coordinates and interacts with Soboba Casino Resort and Soboba Tribal Administration as needed.* Provide assistance to the Accounting Manager as requested.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
* High School Diploma or GED required.* Related college courses are preferred; however, education may be substituted with 2 or more years of experience and on-the-job training.* 2 - 3 years of previous accounts payable experience required.* 1 - 2 years of payroll experience required.* Experience with payroll systems required - ADP experience helpful.* 2 -3 years of experience with accounting software - QuickBooks is helpful.

* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task.* Ability to complete accurate work assignments on time.* Ability to handle highly confidential materials.* Possess excellent written and oral communication skills.* Able to work independently with minimal supervision.* Able to organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines.* Knowledge and competency in accounting principles and practices.* Must have demonstrated experience and intermediate proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
