**Job Summary**
This position is for a Security Specialist who will administer cybersecurity tools used to defend and protect AEP. Primary responsibilities include assistance and collaboration on the design, implementation, testing, training, deployment, and maintenance of an enterprise level web gateway solution along with an enterprise database encryption and access monitoring solution.
**Job Description**
**Essential Job Functions:**
+ Deploy, use, maintain and evolve an enterprise web gateway solution.
+ Collect and analyze cybersecurity requirements.
+ Create new or refine existing cybersecurity processes.
+ Contribute to the resolution of cybersecurity incidents.
+ Develop and maintain documentation of cybersecurity systems, projects and/or processes to ensure unified understanding.
+ Help coordinate work assignments with teammates. Contribute to the creation of a climate in which people want to do their best.
+ Develop and present cybersecurity documents and reports clearly, concisely and effectively. Adjust delivery style to fit target audience.
+ Identify, clarify, resolve, and initiate solutions to cybersecurity problems requiring data analysis.
+ Formulate questions and seek clarification before applying cybersecurity measures.
+ Produce status reports with minimal guidance. Maintain an awareness of time constraints for work activities; make appropriate adjustments when needed.
+ Participate in team initiatives and meetings by preparing, making contributions, and following through on agreements.
+ Participate in activities to ensure AEP is in compliance with laws, regulations and standards such as NERC CIP, SOX, Privacy, and PII.
+ Demonstrate the utmost flexibility and capability to switch from one activity to another on short notice. Willingness to work overtime for incident response for security events.
+ Work with Cybersecurity, End User Engineering, and end users to troubleshoot issues.
+ This position may require some work outside of normal hours and being on call.

**Minimum Requirements:**
**Security Specialist Senior (SG7)**
**Education:**
Bachelor's degree OR Associates degree with 2 years relevant experience in system administration/help desk/security (cyber or physical) OR High School Diploma/GED with 3 years relevant experience in IT system administration/help desk/security (cyber or physical); OR graduation from an approved Cybersecurity Program; alternatively may have non-degree qualifications (such as hands-on demonstrated ability in a technical interview/assessment).
**Experience:**
2 or more years of Information Technology related experience; OR 1 or more years of security related experience, which may include military/government work experience in addition to any experience identified above.
**Security Specialist Principal (SG8)**
**Education:**
Bachelor's degree OR Associates degree with 2 years relevant experience in system administration/help desk/security (cyber or physical) OR High School Diploma/GED with 4 years relevant experience in IT system administration/help desk/security (cyber or physical); OR graduation from an approved Cybersecurity Program; alternatively may have non-degree qualifications (such as hands-on demonstrated ability in a technical interview/assessment).
**Experience:**
4 or more years of Information Technology related experience; OR 2 or more years of security related experience, which may include military/government work experience in addition to any experience identified above.
**Preferred Requirements:**
**Experience/Skills:**
+ Experience administering an enterprise web gateway solution.
+ Experience with Linux syntax desired, but not required.
+ Have experience with mobile (iOS) endpoint security and patching.
+ SIEM (preferred Splunk) experience.
+ Possess ability to demonstrate cybersecurity-specific working knowledge of, or experience with, at least 2 of the items from the following list:o Web Gateway/Proxieso UNIX/Linux command line operationso Windows; Active Directoryo TCP/IPo Network infrastructure, including DNS, firewalls, routers, switches and load-balancerso Packet capture software (Wireshark, Fiddler, etc.)o Endpoint protection software
+ Demonstrate knowledge of how traffic flows through networks.

CCIPS, CCS-P, CERT Incident Response Process Professional, CISM, CISSP, CREST Registered Technical Security Architect, GCCC, GCDA, GCED, GCFW, GCIA, GCIH, GCIP, GCLD, GCPN, GCSA, GCTI, GDAT, GDSA, GFACT, GICSP, GISF, GISP, GLEG, GMON, GOSI, GPCS, GREM, GRID, GSEC, GSLC, GSOM, ISSAP, EPDPE, EPDPF, EPDPP, CDPSE, DCPP, Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert, Microsoft 365 Security Administration, Microsoft Security, OSCP, OSEE, Vendor specific certifications.

$94,225.00-122,490.00 USD
Candidates will be considered based on their qualifications and the candidates ability to work from an approved work location. Although the location is flexible, AEP does not have a presence in all states and localities. The following locations are NOT currently approved for this position: AK, CA, CO, CT, DE, HI, IA, ID, KS, MA, ME, MS, MT, ND, NH, NJ, NM, NV, NY, OR, RI, SD, UT, VT, WY, US Territories or international work locations. AEP will consider qualified candidates who are willing to relocate to an approved work location, at the candidates expense, provided the relocation can be completed within a timeframe that meets AEPs staffing needs.
