Hiring Range: $18.00-$22.00 depending upon qualifications. State salary rules may apply for promotions and transferees.

This is a contractual, part-time security officer position that will be assigned to the Oriole Park Security Operations Center (SOC) located at the Camden Yards Sports Complex. The SOC operates 24 hours, 7 days a week to ensure the safety and security of the facility and its visitors. Candidates must be available to work evenings, nights, weekends and holidays. EXAMPLES OF WORK
The duties listed below are intended as illustrations of various types of work that may be performed. Monitor surveillance systems, including security cameras, alarms, access control and building life safety systems, to detect and respond to emergencies, hazards, threats or security breaches in real-time. Maintain situational awareness by monitoring multiple communication channels, such as radios, phones, and computer systems, to coordinate responses to security incidents and emergencies. Enforce compliance with security policies and procedures related to building access and delivery procedures, including access control measures, identification checks, and visitor and vehicle screening protocols. Monitor rover security patrols and conduct regular checks to ensure security protocols are being followed. Respond promptly to alarms, disturbances, or other incidents by assessing the situation, determining the appropriate level of response, and coordinating with onsite security personnel or external authorities, as needed. Keep accurate records of all security-related activities, including incident reports, shift logs, and equipment maintenance logs, to ensure compliance with security department policies. Conduct thorough investigations into security incidents or breaches, including gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and collaborating with law enforcement agencies if necessary, to identify perpetrators and prevent future occurrences. Provide support and assistance to employees, visitors, and contractors entering or exiting the facility, including verifying credentials, issuing access badges, assigning facility keys and access, and enforcing security procedures. Participate in training exercises and drills to practice emergency response procedures, improve teamwork and communication skills, and ensure readiness to handle crisis situations effectively. Collaborate with other security personnel, facility management, and external stakeholders to develop and implement security strategies, risk assessments, and contingency plans to mitigate potential threats and enhance overall security posture. Performs other duties and functions appropriate to the position as assigned and required by the security management team. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND KEY COMPETENCIES

Basic knowledge of general security practices and response procedures. Basic knowledge of building and life safety system alarm systems. Proficiency in using security-related tools and equipment, including two-way radios, office equipment, computer hardware and software, and video management software. Possess situational awareness skills. Have high ethical standards and high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Customer service skills. Ability to meet performance standards including attendance and punctuality. Ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines. Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented environment. Ability to learn, read and write. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. Ability to express self clearly and concisely, orally and in writing. Key competencies: critical thinking and problem solving skills, adaptability, communication skills and teamwork. GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. Specific educational and experience requirements are set by this agency based on the essential job functions assigned to the position.  Must successfully pass background screening, including criminal record checks (local, state and federal) Possess a valid driver's license  MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education: High School diploma or GED certification. Experience: Three years of physical security experience (private security, military, law enforcement, or corrections) within the last five years.  REQUIRED JOB SKILLS ASSESSMENTS

Physical —Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to walk, stand, or sit for prolonged periods of time; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including the use of computer keyboards; to operate a vehicle to travel to various locations; to operate and use specialized equipment; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.
