SALARY Salary will be commensurate with the level of education and experience of the recommended candidate. Range: Career Path I: $41,500 - $61,000 Career Path II: $43,000 - $80,500 BENEFITS We continually strive to offer a high-quality, comprehensive benefits package to our employees. Retirement:
As a contract teacher, this position will automatically be enrolled in the Teacher Retirement Fund (TRF) through the state of Indiana, which includes a defined benefit (Pension) as well as an Annuity Savings Account (ASA). In addition, this position is eligible to enroll in a 401(a) retirement investment plan, a 403(b) Match Program, and a tax-free post-retirement medical expense account (VEBA).



Additional Benefits:

These are no-cost health clinics that provide primary care treatment, generic prescription medications (at no cost), physicals, health screenings, and labs. Accumulated sick leave days and personal business days will be provided under this position as well. Wee Care provides a quality early learning experience for children as young as six weeks through age five.


POSITION OVERVIEW SUMMARY: The High School Instructional Leadership Specialist will provide district level, job embedded and on-going professional development for Department Chairs. The primary function of the High School Instructional Leadership Specialist is to build Department Chairs' capacity for curricular and instructional leadership by increasing their skill set so that they are equipped to narrow the gap between the current reality and the vision for instruction in a School Improvement Plan. Emphasis will be placed on research-based coaching methods and effective professional development practices. Work will be directed by the Chief Administrative Officer of Zone 5 (high schools and innovative models).


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.
Essential Role: Provide individualized support to Department Chair administrators by training Chairs across high schools to be more effective instructional leaders, namely by building their capacity to provide: Effective individualized coaching of all teachers in their departments Targeted coaching of PLCs High quality professional development that engages and builds the skill sets of adult learners Related Essential Duties: Other duties may be assigned. Ensures on-going, job-embedded and differentiated professional development to meet Department Chair and school needs Assists in district level and school-level data analysis to monitor progress toward goals Conducts learning walks and coaching conversation observations to provide Department Chairs with quality feedback to improve practice Creates, manages, and maintains systems for the coaching model Trains Department Chairs on providing actionable feedback to ensure quality Manage and maintain district partnerships that involve high schools Designs and delivers high quality professional development to Department Chairs to expand skillsets Builds administrative capacity in Department Chairs to design and deliver high quality professional development Uses data and observational evidence to make decisions regarding research-based best practices and high- yield instructional strategies for teachers and administrators. Facilitates discussions among key decision-makers to analyze achievement and instructional information and organize thinking to solve problems and make decisions that are aligned with strategic goals Guides Leadership Teams through the process of data analysis Facilitates the creation and implementation of professional development long range plans for each high school based on individual school SIPs JOB SPECIFIC SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Seeks opportunities to work with and learn from others as part of continuous professional development Able to build strong classroom and school culture, drive classroom and school change, build strong relationships, and influence/lead others. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree required
Advanced degree preferred
Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience (Teaching and using data to drive instruction in a learning-centered environment and/or educational administration)
Experience with technology; (Excel and Google applications required)


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS : Administrator License and/or willingness to work to obtain license preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from administrators, teachers, school board members, and the general public. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability, and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to prepare, project, monitor and document funds from multiple sources. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
