SUMMARY:
We are looking for someone to help improve and support our school program. This job requires assisting in the administration, coordination, and evaluation of the total school program.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Advise and assist department leaders and teachers in improving curriculum and instruction through observing classrooms and providing resources.
- Design, implement, and evaluate programs to prevent discipline problems among students, and help resolve any issues that arise.
- Identify areas where staff development is needed and assist in creating and implementing training programs.
- Supervise and evaluate co-curricular and extra-curricular programs.
- Assist with communicating to parents and the community and involving them in the school program.
- Work with the principal and staff to develop and evaluate policies that affect the school program.
- Collaborate with the principal and school committees to identify ways to improve the school program.
- Maintain a calendar of school activities.
- Conduct research, complete reports, and participate in surveys.
- Manage assigned staff, including assigning responsibilities, resolving issues, and conducting evaluations.
- Ensure a safe and inclusive school environment that promotes academic success for all students and does not tolerate racism or discrimination.
- Promote a positive and cooperative workplace environment.



QUALIFICATIONS :
Education and Experience:
- Master's Degree in Education or a closely related field.
- Two (2) years of professional teaching experience.
- Or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.


Required Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:
- Valid driver's license.
- Principal's license from the State of Minnesota.


Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Familiarity with district policies and procedures.
- Understanding of curriculum requirements and learning objectives.
- Knowledge of state and federal laws governing public education.
- Skills in effective management of resources, strategic planning, budgeting, and customer service.
- Awareness of community resources and training programs.
- Ability to make effective oral presentations and use computer applications.
- Proficiency in business English and communication skills.


Preferred Knowledge and Skills:
- Knowledge of restorative practices and trauma-informed teaching in K-12 education.
- Familiarity with special education laws and regulations.


Preferred Skills:
- Ability to support the implementation of interventions for students in the least restrictive environment.
- Experience in conducting comprehensive evaluations and implementing positive behavior support plans for students with disabilities.


PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Mobility to work in an office setting and use office equipment.
- Stamina to sit for extended periods of time.
- Strength to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
- Vision to read printed materials and computer screens.
- Hearing and speech to communicate effectively.


WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
- Work is performed in an office setting within a school building.
- Some travel may be required within the district.
