North Star Academy is NJ's #1 highest performing public charter school and has served Newark families for over 20 years.Job DescriptionThe School Aide position is a unique role that is responsible for providing support for the day to day operations of the school operations. The School Aide is responsible for administering and operating support services as assigned by the manager.SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIESProvide administrative support including but not limited to data entry, making photocopies, restocking supplies, organizing classroom materials, etc.Support execution of school systems (e.g. Breakfast, Arrival, Dismissal, Meal Times)Provide student supervision in hallwaysOther support duties as assigned by managerQualificationsEvidence of self-motivation, willingness to be a team player, and has a strong sense of personal responsibility;Ideal candidates are hard-working, urgent, energetic, and are willing to learn and adapt;Is extremely reflective and constantly wants to improve;is flexible and enjoys working in a dynamic environment;A strong candidate will possess strong organizational skills, communication skills (particularly with children), and problem solving skills;Interest in performing a critical support role and the ability to excel in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, results-oriented environment;EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND AND WORK EXPERIENCEHigh School Diploma; Passion for working with K-12 students.Additional InformationOur people are what makes us Uncommon. The starting pay will depend on various factors including but not limited to relevant professional experience, education, certifications, and tenure with Uncommon Schools. To receive an offer at the top of the range, candidates will need significant experience in a directly aligned role.
