Full job description Introduction: Empty Spaces Vacation Rental Management (ESVRM), with our stunning short-term rental properties in Moab, Utah and the Electric Mountain Lodge nestled on the scenic Colorado Grand Mesa, is expanding our team. We are searching for a Sales, Marketing, & Events Coordinator with a proven track record and a dynamic skill set. This role is designed for a versatile professional eager to drive growth and elevate guest experiences across our luxury vacation rentals, lodge, and other hospitality services.
Role Overview: As a key player in our team, you'll harness your expertise in sales, marketing, and event management to foster business development, brand enhancement, and unforgettable event execution. This position offers the unique opportunity to work remotely, with occasional travel to our breathtaking locations, and an option for housing at the lodge for project-based work.PLEASE NOTE: This position is primarily focused on the Electric Mountain Lodge, but will also have some overlap with our core business, Empty Spaces in Moab, Ut.
Key Responsibilities: Sales:
Strategically drive sales initiatives across ESVRM's portfolio to enhance bookings, occupancy, and revenue. This includes deploying targeted sales plans for Electric Mountain Lodge to attract leisure and corporate bookings, emphasizing the unique lodge experience and the wide range of activities available. Forge strong relationships with clients and partners, identifying new opportunities for group bookings, events, and extended stays. Extend these efforts to increase utilization and revenue for Second Break Bar and Grill and Electric Mountain Outfitters, promoting them as essential aspects of the Electric Mountain Lodge experience. Analyze market trends and sales data to adapt and evolve sales strategies, ensuring competitive positioning and maximization of revenue opportunities across all channels. Marketing: Lead dynamic marketing campaigns that highlight the distinctive offerings of our entire portfolio. Specifically for Electric Mountain Lodge, we want to focus on the serene location, adventure rentals at Electric Mountain Outfitters, and the unique dining experiences at Second Break Bar and Grill. Utilize a blend of traditional and digital marketing strategies to amplify brand visibility and attract diverse clientele. Craft compelling, creative content that tells the story of our properties, engaging potential guests through social media, email marketing, and content marketing. This content should spotlight our luxury short term rentals, as well as the lodge's accommodations, adventure experiences, and culinary delights, setting us apart from competitors. Employ rigorous data analysis and market research to refine marketing strategies, ensuring they effectively reach target audiences and achieve marketing goals. Monitor and report on the success of marketing initiatives, adjusting tactics in response to analytics and feedback. Events: Oversee the comprehensive planning and flawless execution of a broad spectrum of events at Electric Mountain Lodge, from intimate weddings and corporate retreats to large-scale outdoor adventures. This includes leveraging the unique settings of the lodge, Second Break Bar and Grill, and Electric Mountain Outfitters to offer memorable experiences that exceed guest expectations. Being at the lodge during events will be required. Demonstrate exceptional project management skills, coordinating with various teams and managing vendor relationships to ensure every aspect of each event is executed with precision and creativity. Problem-solve proactively and efficiently to address any challenges that arise during event planning and execution, maintaining high standards of quality and guest satisfaction. Continually assess and refine event offerings to enhance appeal and revenue potential. By focusing on these key responsibilities, the Sales, Marketing & Events Coordinator will play a pivotal role in driving the success and growth of ESVRM and Electric Mountain Lodge, including its distinctive components, Second Break Bar and Grill and Electric Mountain Outfitters.
Qualifications: Industry Experience: Mid-Level: For mid-level candidates, we seek individuals with 3-5 years of relevant experience in sales, marketing, and/or event planning, specifically within the hospitality industry, luxury vacation rentals, or adventure tourism sectors. Candidates should demonstrate a growing track record of contributing to sales growth, executing marketing strategies, and assisting in the planning and management of events. Senior-Level: Senior-level applicants are expected to bring 6+ years of relevant experience in sales, marketing, and/or event planning, specifically within the hospitality industry, luxury vacation rentals, or adventure tourism sectors. This should include proven success in leading sales initiatives that significantly increase bookings and revenue, developing and implementing dynamic marketing campaigns that enhance brand presence and engagement, and overseeing the complete lifecycle of event planning from conception to execution. Senior-level experience also implies strategic leadership, the ability to mentor junior staff, and a history of innovative problem-solving to drive business success. Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field is preferred. For both mid and senior levels, additional certifications in digital marketing, sales strategy, or event management are highly valued. Applicants with a Master's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or Hospitality Management, will take priority. Specialized Skills: Sales Proficiency: Ability to articulate and deploy sales strategies, with mid-level roles contributing towards team targets and senior roles expected to devise and lead sales operations. Marketing Expertise: Mid-level roles should execute marketing tactics under guidance, whereas senior-level candidates must demonstrate capability in leading marketing initiatives that drive market differentiation and customer engagement. Event Management Skills: For mid-level positions, candidates should have experience supporting event planning and execution. Senior-level candidates are expected to have extensive experience in autonomously managing high-profile events, with a keen eye for detail and exceptional project management skills. Communication, Problem-Solving, and Organizational Abilities: Exceptional in all candidates, with senior levels displaying advanced negotiation skills, strategic problem-solving, and the ability to inspire and lead teams towards achieving complex project milestones. Adaptability and Innovation: Critical for both levels, with an expectation for senior-level professionals to drive innovation and adapt strategies in response to industry trends and business needs. Salary & Compensation: Mid-Level: $50,000 - $60,000 annual base with commissions, commensurate with experience and impact. Senior-Level: $75,000 - $85,000 annual base with commissions, commensurate with experience and impact. Includes a, travel expense reimbursement, professional development opportunities, performance bonuses, and optional lodge housing for specific projects. Role Location and Work Arrangement: This is a hybrid remote/work-from-home position, ideal for candidates based in the Aspen/Carbondale/Glenwood Springs, Grand Junction, or Denver areas, due to the need for frequent travel to the lodge and occasionally to our properties in Moab.
