Position Overview:This role is an opportunity to make an impact on one of Diligent's highest performing teams assisting in exciting sales related tasks in our ESG Group.Key ResponsibilitiesWeek 1: OnboardingIntroduce the intern to the team and provide an overview of the team's role in the companyIntroduce the intern to key personnelProvide an overview of the company's products and services and their target marketReview the sales process and key metrics used to measure successAssign the intern a mentor from the team to help with questions and provide guidanceWeek 2-3: Sales ResearchResearch potential customers in the target market using online resources, industry reports, and market research databasesGather contact information for key decision-makers in the target companies, including names, titles, email addresses, and phone numbersAnalyze sales data to identify trends and opportunities, such as which products or services are selling well and which geographic regions have the highest sales potentialCreate a database to store the research information and make it accessible to the sales teamWeek 4-5: Lead GenerationUse the research from the previous weeks to create a database of leads for the sales team to pursueDevelop a cold-calling and email outreach strategy to engage leads, including scripts and templates for phone and email communicationsTest the outreach strategy on a sample of leads and refine as needed based on the response rateWork with the sales manager to create a plan for following up with leads and tracking their progress through the sales pipelineWeek 6-7: Sales SupportAssist the sales team with administrative tasks such as creating proposals, contracts, and invoicesProvide support during the sales process, including scheduling meetings and following up with prospects to ensure they have the information they needAttend sales meetings and take notes to provide feedback to the team on areas for improvementWork with the sales manager to create training materials for new sales reps, including a sales playbook and onboarding materialsWeek 8-10: Final ProjectWork with the sales manager to identify an area of improvement for the team, such as a process that could be streamlined or a new tool that could be implementedDevelop a plan to address the identified issue, including a timeline, budget, and resources neededPresent the plan to the sales team and the sales manager for feedback and refinementImplement the plan and track its success over time, presenting regular progress reports to the sales manager and the teamRequired Experience/SkillsInterest in researchExperience working in excelSomeone who is passionate about process improvement and technologyWithin commuting distance of our New York OfficePursuing their Bachelors DegreeMust be available from 6/10 - 8/16FLSA: Non-Exempt
